Setting Kappa Kappa Gamma Apart R ecently, other sororities at Colorado State have responded to their aging facilities' needs and the increased challenges of recruiting ever-larger numbers of young women each year by investing in upgrading their homes. Most have larger dining and meeting space, allowing them to eat and meet as a chapter in their chapter home. The Greek system at Colorado State continues to grow and for Kappa to attract many of the top women, we must address our needs and expand to accommodate our members. Competition for quality members remains strong; we cannot allow Kappa to be left at a disadvantage. By joining together, Kappas of the past can ensure a future for young women to experience the Kappa difference at CSU. We can set the pace by executing a carefully constructed plan for our chapter house to remain a premier facility on campus. The Epsilon Beta alumnae and undergraduate leadership has developed a solid plan to ensure the chapter house meets the needs of today's students. Through careful study, assessment, and planning, it has been determined that an expansion of the chapter house is necessary, and the House Board must invest in our home to accommodate the growing chapter. Kappa Headquarters is fully aware and supportive of these plans. Estimated Project Cost: $4,500,000 PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS • Add approximately 8,000 square feet to the rear of the house by building a two-story addition • Create a chapter room large enough to hold the entire chapter for a meeting, to hold membership and other events with the entire chapter, and to conduct Initiation ritual at one time • Enlarge and modernize the kitchen to a size sufficient to provide formal meals for the entire chapter at the same seating • Foster sisterhood between all Epsilon Beta members with a dining room large enough to accommodate all members • Enhance storage for tables and chairs • Add 13 beds and one bathroom on the second level over the new chapter and dining rooms; this will increase in-house capacity from 56 to 69 • Add one new bedroom and bathroom that will be ADA accessible • Add an elevator for access to the ADA accessible portion of the new bedroom wing • Return the guest room to its intended purpose, from its current use as a pantry • Add an ADA accessible bathroom to the main floor EXPANSION PROJECT MISSION STATEMENT: We are building A Timeless Space That will be the Home of First Choice To create the Foundation for a Million Memories That is Built for an Everlasting Legacy!
