THETA IOTA CHAPTER • KANSAS STATE UNIVERSITY A Renova on-Filled Summer Puts Theta Iota Up-to-Date The House Corpora on Works Hard to Preserve Our Home Fall 2017 Crescent The Golden The hot summer months also saw the installation of new air conditioning units in the bedrooms on the second floor of the "new" wing of the chapter, which was built over 50 years ago. These units replaced ones that were originally installed in the 1962 addition. Replacement parts were difficult to find and many were causing floor, wall, and lower level ceiling issues from leaking water. The first phase of this project was completed just before the house filled with grateful members prior to recruitment in August. The rest of the units in the hallways and first floor will be replaced as funds allow, hopefully soon. The cost of each unit is approximately $2,000, including installation. As the holiday season approaches, your consideration of a gift toward a specific or general need of the Chapter House would be greatly appreciated. Your House Corporation cannot effectively update and maintain Theta Iota's beautiful old home without your help. We encourage you to reflect upon the meaning of your Tri Delta membership, how you may identify with that through past and current relationships, and how you may honor both. In behalf of all House Corporation members, we wish you the best of the entire holiday season. Loyally, Laura Anderson Pestinger '76 House Corporation President LMPestinger@hotmail.com s colorful leaves begin to fall in Manhattan and on the Kansas State campus, life at the Tri Delta house is busy, and your Theta Iota House Corporation continues to provide a safe, functional, and home-like atmosphere to help support our collegiate sisters. With the addition of a large, beautiful new dorm on campus and the continuous updating of all sorority houses at KSU, we take pride in knowing that our chapter and its beautiful living facility continue to compete for the interest and membership of women of character and quality who choose the K-State Greek experience. This past summer, the House Corporation members focused on finishing the guest bathroom and bedroom updates that began last winter, thanks to a generous memorial gift. In addition to the new ceiling, wall tile, and fixtures in the bathroom, the bedroom remodel included a fresh coat of paint, deep cleaning the hardwood floors, the addition of an antique writing desk and chair, bedside table, decorative rug, luggage rack and desk lamp. Not only is it a lovely and welcoming suite for our chapter's guests, but a beautiful example of how a sister's gift may be utilized to improve our Chapter House. Perhaps you would consider such a gift of your own or in conjunction with other Theta Iota alumnae with whom you are particularly close. HC members Gwen McMillan Brustad '75 and Janet Whitehair Cooper '68 smile for the camera while painting the guest bedroom. The new writing desk and chair stand ready for guest use.
