Always Alpha Phi 4 F all semester is already in full swing and the calendar is packed, making for a busy semester! Sisters moved in to 906 S. Providence two weeks prior to classes in preparation for formal recruitment and Polish Week was filled with recruitment workshops, crafting, and lots of bonding! We had an ice cream social, roller- skating outing, and several fun spirit activities that helped strengthen our sisterhood and get us excited to welcome home a new pledge class. The recruitment team, led by Ashlyn Hoff '15, worked diligently all summer to pull off a successful recruitment. Three emerging leaders, Aerin Hanks '16, Rylie Collins '16, and Maddy Roller '16, attended Recruitment University with our Chapter Advisor Courtney Coslor '12, and Recruitment Advisor Angela Lax '13. Fall Recruitment Welcomes 70 New Members In June, the recruitment team reunited in St. Louis for a retreat to add the final touches to their recruitment plans. Their hard work was evident on Bid Day when we welcomed 78 new members into our sisterhood. Our Bid Day theme of Set in Stone, Welcome Home was the perfect fit for our bright and genuine new members. It was so heartwarming to see the 2017 pledge class run home to us with huge smiles, ecstatic that they made the right decision! New Member Education started right away with weekly meetings to learn Alpha Phi's history and member expectations, Ivy Linking dates to meet older members, and sisterhood events. Kaelin Unks '16, our Director of New Member Education, is ensuring that our new members have a smooth transition into college life and Alpha Phi. We were excited to celebrate the new members' initiation into Alpha Phi on October 8 and loved having alumnae join us at the ceremony and brunch reception to help welcome our new sisters. Join Us This Fall for Red Dress Gala The first week of school we watched the solar eclipse together, snuggled up for a movie night, and adjusted to life back at 906. In addition to classes, chapter meetings, socials, and sisterhood, our chapter prepared for Mizzou's Homecoming, one of the university's most cherished traditions and a big part of the Greek life community. Our theme this year was Let the Columns Stand and we were paired with the men of Alpha Tau Omega. Our sisters worked hard on our Homecoming decorations and community service events to help play a vital role in this year's celebration. We also are abuzz with philanthropy because this school year we are moving Red Dress Gala to the fall. We hope you can make the trip to Columbia on November 10 to share in this special evening of raising money for the Alpha Phi Foundation. Our members are working hard to beat the total amount raised of $36,000 from last year! From initiation and Homecoming to football games and Red Dress Gala, there are many reasons to plan a trip to Columbia and the 906 this fall! Our members would love to connect with alumnae and share these events with each of you. We appreciate your continued love and support of our chapter. We need your help to carry on the legacy of Omicron for years to come.
