Omicron Chapter Always Alpha Phi Omicron Chapter of Alpha Phi Fall 2017 HOUSE CORPORATION BOARD PLANS FOR OMICRON'S FUTURE I t's been a busy summer preparing the Alpha Phi house for the move in of the sophomore class and the welcome of our 78 new members. Summer projects focused on regular maintenance of the chapter house rather than major capital improvements at this time. After an entire school year without the use of our north parking area because of the construction of the new Delta Gamma chapter house, Omicron now has a newly resurfaced and striped parking area adjacent to the new ΔΓ building. Additional projects included a deep cleaning of all the bedrooms, patching bedroom walls where needed, painting the second and third floor halls, and power washing the exterior of the house. In addition, we spiffed up the large bulletin boards on the second and third floor. With the help of our strategic planning committee, the House Corporation Board has been busy planning for the future of our chapter house. The committee's job is to dig deeper into the feasibility of renovating, expanding, or rebuilding the chapter house. We are working with chapter leadership, advisors, and representatives of Alpha Phi International to gather valuable data to determine what route, if any, we should take. Key steps include: • Evaluating our current state of affairs and establishing projections based on the data collected: • Campus enrollment • Greek participation • Chapter finances • Housing preferences • Making a decision on what is best for the overall health of the chapter while still remaining competitive on the University of Missouri campus. We are very fortunate to have a board of dedicated members with the breadth of professional experience necessary to take on the complexities of a potential project of this size and scope. We will have two planning meetings in the coming months and hope to have a decision by the end of the year. In the meantime, we welcome you to attend the Red Dress Gala on November 10.
