A NEW HOME FOR ALABAMA BETA
Reopen Your Hearts to Support Your Lifelong Sisterhood
A
s we are putting together this newsletter, we have less than 100 days
until we get the keys to our brand-new house! It's hard to believe
that this time last year we were getting excited about walls being poured!
Today the walls are being painted, fixtures are being hung and the grand
staircase is starting to take shape.
A NEW HOME FOR ALABAMA BETA
The theme of recruitment for Alabama Beta this year was "No matter
where you go, Pi Beta Phi always welcomes you back home" and that
could not be truer for these girls who have been utilizing a temporary
living space for almost 18 months. The Chapter House Corporation
is excited to share the progress of the house with you on Facebook,
A New Home for Alabama Beta. We also just launched a website,
albetapiphihouse.org, where we will be posting pictures of alumnae
throughout the years as well sharing ways you can contribute to the new
house. We ask that you take a few minutes to look at the website and
see what fits your giving ability. Donations can be made directly to The
University of Alabama and are tax deductible to the full extent of the law,
as well as can be spread out over a time period of up to five years.
OPEN YOUR HEARTS TO PI PHI
We all enjoyed the sisterhood Pi Phi provided during our time at Alabama.
Now it is our turn to stretch our giving and support the financial needs
associated with providing a safe, welcoming and beautiful space for the
collegians to call home.
Pi Phi love,

Helen Leupold '87 Shares the Significance of Alabama Beta
C
oming to the University of Alabama as a freshman,
Helen Gooding Leupold '87 knew she wanted to
join a sorority. During recruitment, Helen immediately
connected with Pi Phi's genuine and sincere sisters.
Later, her sister Caroline Gooding Pendergast '88
also joined Alabama Beta. Helen stayed a member
because of the close frienships she formed there. As
she shared, "Alabama Beta has always been a special
place for me."
Helen earned her bachelors' degree in psychology and a
master's degree in industrial/organizational psychology
from the University of North Carolina before starting
her career in compensation and benefits. Interestingly
