Summer Updates Give a
Fresh Look to the Chapter House
Board Ensures Changes Stay
True to Theta Chapter Traditions
T
he Theta Chapter House Board (HB)
has had a very busy summer! From
landscaping to interior improvements, summer
projects were completed by the time the actives
returned for Work Week and fall recruitment.
Improvements included some much-needed
TLC to the main floor and a refreshed
curb appeal.
THETA CHAPTER TRADITION
REMAINS INTACT
Our big black front door has a new frame and is,
as always, a welcoming sight to chapter members,
alumnae, and guests. We are aware that certain
architectural features of our house, such as the
illustrious front door, mean a lot to our alumnae,
and the HB intends to preserve those aspects as
we work to refine the overall look and feel. Theta
Chapter is about tradition after all, and our goal
is to hold on to those ideals.
CHAPTER HOUSE
IMPROVEMENTS INSIDE
AND OUT
The new landscaping includes flowers along the
front sidewalk and beautiful hanging baskets that
frame the front door. The chapter members were
proud of the new curb appeal when potential
new members entered the house for the first time
during recruitment. Improvements to the main
floor include a renovated and large kitchen, a
new house director's apartment, and a large
after-hours kitchen to accommodate our growing
sisterhood. The summer's interior projects create
a clean new look but hold on to the traditional
appeal we all cherish.
HOUSE AND ADVISORY
BOARDS CELEBRATE CHANGE
FOR THE BETTER
In early August, the House and Advisory Boards
held a Hard Hat Happy Hour get-together so
those who work most closely with the chapter
could see the changes. We are able to share a
few glimpses of the new rooms in this edition of
Theta News. We urge you to stop by to see them
the next time you are in the Columbia area. The
HB ended the summer with a thank-you barbecue
lunch for the construction crew that inclued light
blue and dark blue bandanas that they wore with
good humor.
We are so proud of how everything turned out
and look forward to future projects that will
make our house even larger and more beautiful.
This is just the beginning. Stay tuned for
more updates!
