3 SIGMA CHI UNDERGRADUATES AMONG TOP ACADEMIC CONTENDERS Epsilon Kappa continued in the Sigma Chi way through the end of the spring 2017 semester. We proved our excellence in the classroom, on the campus, in the community, and on the court. Epsilon Kappa had a reputable 3.13 GPA in the spring, which was among the best in the Greek community. CHAPTER PARTNERS WITH NFL STAR FOR SERVICE The Chapter partnered with three different sororities for service events and educational workshops. We were also able to partner with UofM and NFL star DeAngelo Williams for a charity event he held. Epsilon Kappa also took home the championship shirts for intramural basketball. PRO CONSUL VOTED FRATERNITY MAN OF THE YEAR I am proud to say that Epsilon Kappa nearly swept the Fraternity and Sorority Affairs annual awards this year, including IFC Chapter of the Year for the second consecutive year in a row. Our own Pro Consul, Justin Rountree '18, was voted by his peers to be the Fraternity Man of the Year. BROTHERS EXCEL IN LEADERSHIP SKILLS A number of the brothers traveled across the country this summer to attend the Balfour Leadership Training Workshop in Bowling Green, Ohio, and Grand Chapter in Providence, Rhode Island. Members of the executive board came back from BLTW refreshed with new energy and ideas on how to better lead this Chapter. UNDERGRADUATES SUPPORT CHAPTER SWEETHEART At Grand Chapter, we cheered on our very own Chapter Sweetheart, Hannah Woodruff, as she was a finalist for International Sweetheart. Unfortunately, Hannah did not go on to become the International Sweetheart, but we are still very proud of her and cherish her as our Chapter Sweetheart. SUCCESSFUL SPRING RECRUITMENT The Chapter, as well as the executive board, welcomed some new faces. At the end of the spring semester, the Epsilon Beta pledge class brought in four new brothers: Matthew Barczak '20, Matthew Curtis '19, Logan Hood '20, and Evan Withrow '20. Cole Peevy '19 joined the executive board as the summer recruitment chairman. He is excited to bring in the next fall pledge class. THANK YOU, ALUMNI I would like to thank the alumni that support us as individuals and as a Chapter day in and day out. I know that I, and a number of other actives, enjoyed the alumni cookout in June and we hope you did too. Without your support, we could not function and succeed on the level that we do today.
