3 K appa Delta members are excited to be back in the Chapter House for the fall semester after completing another successful recruitment. Our members have continued their involvement on campus and in the community and excelled academically, all while maintaining an invested and meaningful membership in Kappa Delta. 83 Members Achieve 4.0 In the spring semester, our Chapter achieved a 3.45 GPA, which placed us above the all-women, all-undergraduate, and all-Greek averages. Overall, 83 members received a 4.0 and our average rose significantly from the previous semesters. We continue to focus on academic excellence by utilizing tutoring services, which provides our members with the opportunity to work with qualified individuals and receive one- on-one assistance. Kappa Delta Raises $35,000 for Charities Our annual Shamrock 5K Run, which benefits Prevent Child Abuse America, Child Abuse Prevention Services, and the Children's Trust Fund, was held during the spring semester, and I am proud to announce that we have raised more than $35,000 for these wonderful organizations. In addition, we hosted a certified Red Cross blood drive, our Crossing Points Prom, and picked up litter around the Manderson Park River Walk. Alumnae Tea and Parents' Weekend Kappa Delta held our first Alumnae Tea, where alumnae were invited to tour the Chapter House and interact with undergraduate members. We also hosted our annual Parents' Weekend, which was held the same weekend as the Shamrock 5K Run. It was a great opportunity for our parents to witness our involvement within the community, and the weekend ended with music from the Druid City Music Hall. Growing Sisterhood On Saturday, August 19, we welcomed 142 new members to our Chapter. Before recruitment, we implemented new methods and rules that ensure all members are involved in the recruitment process. With a total of 473 members, we are extremely excited to see what our new members can accomplish during their time in Kappa Delta. Thank You, Loyal Alumnae I am proud of all of our accomplishments, improvements, and efforts, and I am confident that as a Chapter we can achieve future growth. Our members continue to positively impact not only one another but the campus and community as well. We could not do what we do without the support of our alumnae, and we are eternally grateful. We invite all alumnae to come see the new Chapter House and meet our wonderful new members!
