Maggie & Gene Ross Special Council meets to discuss waste water plant improvements Sept. 7 Quartzsite Town Council will hold a special meeting Thursday, Sept. 7th at 4pm to discuss Waste Water Treatment Plant Improvements and the Rate Study Review. On March 9th, Mark Reader, Man- aging Director, Stifel, Nicolaus & Company, Incorporated and Mike Krebs, Vice President, PACE Engi- neering presented to the council a plan for funding the rehabilitation of the Town's wastewater treatment plant and collection system. Reader said he had been working on the funding of the Waste Water Treatment Plant for about five years now. He said the numbers would be refined over the next few weeks and bring it back to the Council. In 2012-2013, the Town borrowed $1,600,000 from WIFA at 2.8% money over 20 years. One million of that was used for engineering and design purposes, and approxi- mately $652,000 is left on the loan that the Town has not drawn on. Funds were used for construction and some non-construction costs, and then the project was delayed by then mayor Ed Foster. Mr. Reader said Rural Development would like the Town to move for- ward somewhat expeditiously. Mr. Reader will go back to the USDA to try to borrow $2,000,000 more for what Mr. Krebs believes is the con- struction cost.
