Manton fire meeting scheduled landowners around the communities of Shingle- town and Manton in Shas- ta and Tehama counties are encouraged to attend a public post Ponderosa fire information meeting 3-5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20 at the Black Butte Junior High School gymnasium in Shingletown. Residents and Information provided will include post-fire damage assessment and findings, erosion and forestry recommenda- tions for landowners, how to prepare for the next disaster and cost- share and technical assis- tance programs that can help. This historic double-elimina- tion doubles tournament is slated to start at 10 a.m. at Ide Adobe State Park in Red Bluff. Rules of the 1850s will apply. Equipment and courts will be based on the 1850 time period. National Horseshoe Pitchers Association rules will not be used.
