Anchored in Tradition, Building Our Future Alpha Omega Chapter of Delta Gamma at the University of Arkansas A lpha Omega came home to the Univer- sity of Arkansas, FOR GOOD, last fall, bringing back the opportunity for hun- dreds of new women to experience the sister- hood and enduring friendships we've all known and cherished for many years. Now that Alpha Omega is home at the UofA, it is time for us to give our Alpha Omega collegians a home that will strengthen our collegian member's bonds. Greek life at the University of Arkansas contin- ues to grow. The average sorority chapter size on the UofA campus today is 400. Over 1,700 women, a new record, have enrolled for Panhel- lenic recruitment this fall. Last year, 250 wom- en accepted bids to become Delta Gammas at the UofA. That is the single largest new member class in Delta Gamma history. We will build on that success this year. On the UofA campus, having a competitive facil- ity to house our chapter is incredibly important. Nearly every group on campus has expanded, or has plans to expand their buildings. After care- ful planning and research, we are thrilled to an- nounce the Anchored in Tradition, Building Our Future capital campaign. This $2 million cam- paign effort will ensure our sisters have a chapter house and that we remain competitive as many Arkansas Greek chapters build new housing. Construction on the new chapter house will begin in spring 2018. Sisters will move into the house in fall 2019—in just two short years. Other new groups have taken five years to start building. Because of alumnae like you, Alpha Omega is home at the University of Arkansas. Delta Gam- ma needs you to ensure we build this house. Over the past few months, 96 alumnae have committed to over $1.6 million toward our cam- paign goal. This is a great start, but we need your help to reach (and exceed!) our campaign goal of $2 million. This is the time to remember your Alpha Omega experience. Remember what an impact ΔΓ had on you and think about how your life has been affected by your membership and your sisters. It is only through the lifelong bonds of Delta Gamma sisterhood that future genera- tions may share the same experience. We have a strong collegian membership at UofA, we have a fabulous lot on which to build, we have a great building design. Now, we just need to raise funds that allow us to put shovels in the ground! In the coming weeks, you will receive additional information on this vital project, the campaign, and ways in which you can join our growing list of loyal alumnae supporters. We need every Alpha Omega to join us as this is a once-in-a- lifetime opportunity to build upon our past and secure a legacy for our future! There will never be another Alpha Omega project of this magni- tude. Now is your chance to be part of this leg- acy. Thank you for your loyalty, consideration, and support of Delta Gamma at the University of Arkansas.
