August 9, 2017 www.DesertMessenger.com 19 QPD BULLETIN CON'T 7/23/17 A male was discovered de- ceased in his trailer on E. Main St. he was last seen around 7/19/17. 7/24/17 John SPRINGETTI was cited and released on W. Main St. Springetti was stopped for a civil traffic violation (speeding), and found to be driving with a suspended Arizona driver's license. Springetti was cited and released on scene, and his vehicle was towed for 30- day impound. 7/27/17 QPD conducted an extensive patrol of Scaddan Wash in Quartzsite. On 7/7/17 QPD recovered an abandoned vehicle in a wash located near Power Line Pole. The owner's daughter stated he was the last person known to drive the vehicle, but she didn't know where he was. I had knowledge that Lake Havasu Police Dept. had taken a missing per- sons report. QPD found the man about 100 yards south of Power Line Pole un- der a tree. The body was severely de- composed. He was identified by his AZ driver's license found in pant pocket, and by a tattoo. A glass pipe and 0.2 grams of Methamphetamine were also discov- ered. Funeral home took possession of the body. 7/25/17 David WORKMAN and Charles JOHNSON were involved in an alterca- tion that occurred on W. Camel Land. Workman claimed Johnson assaulted him with a shovel resulting in Workman needing stitches on his hand. Johnson denied the assault and claimed Work- man displayed an open bladed knife while calling Johnson derogatory names several times. Johnson recorded the in- cident with his cell phone and there was no visible video footage, but audio was captured verifying the allegations. Both subjects were long-formed for disorderly conduct. 7/26/17 Brooke GASTEL was cited and released on Central Blvd & Senter St. Gastel was stopped for a civil traffic vio- lation (failure to dim headlights.) A record check revealed that Gastel's California driving privileges were suspended. Gas- tel was released on scene and Gastel's vehicle was placed under a 30-day im- pound. 7/27/17 Richard MURKLAND was con- tacted on State Trust Land at Kofa & Tyson. Murkland had previously been warned to leave the State Trust Land in May and in June of 2017 due to his 14- day permit expiring. Murkland was cited and released for trespassing. 7/27/17 QPD was flagged down on the corner of the corner of W. Cowell and N. Central Blvd. by a good Samaritan who turned over a social security card, which was subsequently seized for safekeeping. 7/28/17 QPD conducted a traffic stop on Voliswagon sedan for traveling ap- prox 60 MPH in a posted 35 MPH zone while turning north into the on-coming traffic lanes on Riggles Ave from Main St. QPD contacted the driver who iden- tified himself by AZ driver's license as Amen TURCIOS. Turcios had red blood shot eyes, slurred speech and an over- whelming odor of intoxicating beverage emanating from his breath and person when he spoke. Turcios did poorly on standardized field sobriety tests and was arrested. Turcios was also found in pos- session of an opened pint of Vodka on the center console. Turcios refused any breath test and a search warrant was obtained for Turcios' blood. Turcios was transported and booked into the La Paz Co. Detention Center for DUI, DUI 08+ and Extreme DUI. 7/28/17 QPD responded to S. Riggles Rd. in reference to a civil dispute and found the incident to be a civil dispute between a landlord and tenant. 7/30/17 QPD stopped a vehicle for failing to maintain its land on I-10 eastbound and found the driver Louis M. ORTIZ to be in possession of 5.6 grams of Mari- juana. A secondary vehicle driven by Da- vid WILLIAR stopped behind the police vehicle which was traveling in concert with the initial vehicle stopped. Williams was found to be in possession drug par- aphernalia. Both drivers were cited and released for both criminal and civil traffic violations. 7/30/17 QPD responded to Targa Trail in reference to a domestic dispute and subsequently arrested Teresa OCHOA for criminal damage and threatening and intimidating per domestic violence. 7/31/17 Caroline Garretson engaged in a verbal altercation that turned physical. The altercation occurred on Quartzsite Blvd. Garretson hit a bottle of mild out of the victim's hand and scratched the victim during the altercation. Manage- ment advised they did wish prosecution against Garretson. 7/31/17 QPD responded to E. Sunrise St. in reference to a verbal argument between family members, where were having a disagreement over the recent death of their father & who was going to plan the funeral arrangements. The son yelled at his mother, left the residence without incident. She plans to seek order of protection. Between 7/16/17 & 8/1/17, unknown person(s) turned on a water hose on the northwest side of a property on E. Kue- hn and let the water run into a drainage pond. This was accomplished by setting up some piping used by the trailer park during the monsoon season. 8/01/17 QPD assisted AZ DPS during a DUI investigation on W. Kuehn St. Officer observed the suspect driver identified as Austin HENDERSON could not maintain balance while standing. He had extreme slurred speech and a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from his breath and person. Henderson failed the field sobriety test and recorded them with my department issued body cam- era. Henderson was arrested by DPS. Facebook.com/ DesertMessengerNews
