Brothers Spark Interest in Philanthropic Service More Than $52,000 Raised at Single Fundraising Event A cademically, Indiana Gamma remains a leader among fraternities. The Chapter recorded a 3.20 GPA last fall, ranking us third among housed chapters on campus, and we are eagerly awaiting the results of our academic performance from the spring in hopes of improving our standing. The Chapter's thorough scholarship program continues to supply resources and encouragement for our brothers in the classroom. As always, the Chapter is hoping to continue the perennial trend of a top-five standing academically next year. Newfound Philanthropic Success Indiana Gamma has seen remarkable improvement in our philanthropic efforts after a successful showing in Indiana University Dance Mara- thon last fall. For the first time in the Chapter's history, Indiana Gamma was selected for Collegiate Charities' Dropping the Puck on Cancer, a hockey event benefiting the American Brain Tumor Association. The Chapter's inaugural hockey team defeated Alpha Epsilon Pi 6-2. We are excited to remain in the event next year and improve our fundrais- ing efforts for brain cancer research. Additionally, the Chapter executed its most successful philanthropy to date this spring. Under new philan- thropic direction, Indiana Gamma raised $52,500 by hosting recording artist, Baauer, at the Chapter house. The first Every Donation Matters concert, paired with Gamma Phi Beta, allowed us to donate nearly $7,394 to the St. Vincent Children's Hospital in Indianapolis. We are ec- static for our newfound philanthropic success and will work even harder in the fall to expand our endeavors. Spring Recruitments Welcomes 21 New Members The spring recruiting season was yet again successful for the gentle- men of Indiana Gamma. The Chapter benefited from its dominant cam- pus reputation by welcoming 21 young men into the brotherhood. Indi- ana Gamma's spring class hails from diverse locations, backgrounds, educational aspirations, and personalities. The Chapter's recruitment council has already begun work for the fall to continue our strong sense of brotherhood and desire to excel. Indiana Gamma Places Fifth at Little 500 The Chapter hosted a fun-filled Mom's Weekend this spring during our Dropping the Puck on Cancer hockey event. The lovely mothers of Indi- ana Gamma cheered on our team while enjoying a catered lunch at the Memorial Union with a bowling and billiards competition amongst fami- lies. Brothers were able to connect with many alumni this past spring, specifically at the 67th running of the Little 500—where Indiana Gamma valiantly finished fifth despite multiple crashes. We could not be more proud of our 2017 bike team, captained by Joe Krahulik '18 and three rookie riders. Brothers Finish Fourth in Intramurals We also showcased our leadership and talent on the athletic field during the past semester. Indiana Gamma humbly accepted the best sports- manship award from the Indiana University Recreational Sports Frater- nity Council. The Chapter finished fourth in the yearly standings, claim- ing a spring title in dodgeball. Brothers are excited to start flag football and soccer, among other sports, this fall. Thank You, Loyal Alumni Indiana Gamma is continuing to excel in the classroom, on the athletic field, and especially in the community. As always, our Chapter could not experience the success it does without the constant support of its strong alumni base.
