3 Delta Kappa Epsilon Left: Colm O'Mara '95 and Filippo Feoli '12 in the midst of festivities during the Kruel Karma performance. Right: More than 80 brothers returned for the June reunion. Official and unofficial business followed. B rothers, I did not arrive until Saturday, but the classes of 2012, 2007, and 1997 were out in force. There was also a hearty dose of other sparks in attendance. By my estimation, out of approximately 1,000 living Mu DKE brothers, there were likely 80-plus creeping about (I would say 100-plus, but I can get fired up), so it was great to catch up with everyone. Our annual meeting was held Saturday afternoon in the Temple, with approximately 40-50 brothers in attendance. The usual agenda was followed, to approbation (minutes to be posted on website—check it out at http://mudke.org), but of importance was remembrance and honor to Brother John Wilson '52. His family is of course memorialized in our Temple library at 112 Broad Street, but John's contributions will not be forgotten. John is on our Mu Mt. Rushmore next to Harold O. Whitnall '00 and Robert Blackmore '41. After memories were exchanged, and a moment of silence in John's honor, the brothers sang "There is a Name" in John's memory. John was one of a kind, and we all owe a debt of gratitude to him. Please take a moment to remember him. I will miss him, as will Colgate and Mu. After much tomfoolery thereafter, Kruel Karma, featuring Brother Mark McKay '91, rocked the Pierce. The band started around 9:30 and ended around 1:30. Dining room, trophy room, living room, front porch, and lawn all packed. Pizza, beer, and apple pies (which were heartily enjoyed by our female party guests) were enjoyed by all. The festivities continued long after, and as the author retired to the Temple around 5 a.m. (in anticipation of an 8 a.m. departure, which was met), Miss Augusta Berry and friends were still dancing on the front porch. It was a glorious weekend full of good-natured foolishness, all bound with brotherly friendship and amusement—enjoyed by all. I encourage every brother to make the effort—and if you are within a four- to five-hour driving radius, there is little excuse to attend reunions in the years to come. I never left 110-112 Broad Street, paid nothing but gas money, and did not miss anything. Hope to see you all soon. ITB, Mark Peck '91 A Reunion 2017 Update from the Foundation Secretary Alumni News Samuel C. Donaldson '12 was awarded the Ann Yao '80 Memorial Young Alumni Award, established in 1992 to honor and recognize up to three alumni who have demonstrated remarkable and meritorious service to Colgate since graduation. As an undergraduate, Sam helped the senior class gift committee reach a record 95% participation, studied mathematical economics and philosophy, and sang in the Colgate Thirteen. Now he represents the class of 2012-13 on the President's Club membership committee and works for the admissions office by attending college fairs and promoting Colgate to prospective students. He is one year into his MBA at the Michigan Ross School of Business and is headed toward a career in finance. Mystic Circle A brother dead and brothers mourning Fill the heart with grief today, And the earnest grasp fraternal; Speaks, "a dear one passed away." Yes, no longer we shall greet thee In the halls of DKE, Yet thy name in sweet remembrance Graven on our hearts will be. We have parted, Brother, parted, As we trust, to meet again, In a full unbroken circle, Free from sorrow, grief and pain.
