QPD BULLETIN REPORT Provided by Quartzsite Police Department MAY 8 TO JUNE 5, 2017 6/04/17 A white male and white female en- tered a fenced residential yard on W. Ty- son St. and removed a ramp valued at ap- prox. $400. The incident was witnessed by a neighbor. Rachel Allen & Freddy Adams were identified as suspects and the stolen property was recovered. Allen was booked for Hindering Prosecution and False Re- porting. Adams was booked for theft. 6/05/17 QPD stopped a vehicle driven by Ashley GEPSON on W. Main St. for a mi- nor equipment violation. A records check indicated GEPSON's vehicle registration had a mandatory insurance suspension. The vehicle's license plate was seized for destruction and GEPSON was cited for the MI Suspended Plate Violation. Between 3/20/17 and 6/6/17, unknown person(s) entered a residence on W. Des- ert Vista by breaking a plastic window to the backdoor. Once inside, they collected property and readied it for removal. The resident reported nothing was taken ex- cept for one eaten can of soup. 6/06/17 QPD responded to a delayed bur- glary on W. Main St. The victim reported his trailer had been burglarized of approximate- ly $3,000 worth of personal property while he was out of town. QPD located a suspect who was identified as Eric Anthony CAS- SIDY. Cassidy was previously observed in possession of the victim's described stolen property. Cassidy admitted to the burglary and also admitted to selling the victims property throughout the Quartzsite area. Cassidy's girl-friend Ariel DALTON also ad- mitted to assisting Cassidy sell the stolen property knowing it to be stolen. A majority of the victim's stolen property was recov- ered within hours of the reported burglary. Cassidy was found in possession of illicit drugs & drug paraphernalia. Cassidy and Dalton were both booked the La Paz Coun- ty Detention Center. 6/06/17 QPD contacted Randall BENNETT at his residence on W. Main St. in refer- ence to case follow-up. Bennett had an overwhelming odor of burnt marijuana em- anating from his breath and person when he spoke to the police. Bennett was found in possession of marijuana with a glass pipe and told officer he did not have a valid prescription to smoke marijuana. Bennett was cited and released for possession of marijuana on scene. 6/07/17 QPD responded to a report of a burglary on Datig Avenue. There were ob- vious signs of a forced entry on the a shed door. It is unknown at the time of this report what was taken/missing as the next-door neighbor reported the burglary and home- owners are currently out of state. This case remains/open active pending location and identification of suspect(s). 6/07/17 QPD responded S. Quartzsite Blvd. in reference to an unknown African American male, approximately 60 years of age, who had shoplifted approximately $40 worth of goods and left the premises west- bound on I-10. 6/07/17 QPD found a metal bar appearing to have been used as a vehicle tow assis- ter in the intersection of E. Main Street and Riggles Road. 6/07/17 QPD stopped a suspicious vehicle on Dome Road stemming from a call to service in the Rainbow Acres area which ultimately resulted in identifying the Ari- zona license plate on the vehicle as sus- pended for mandatory insurance. Subse- quently, the license plate was seized and the driver, Tiana BEYNON was cited for the violation. 6/08/17 QPD responded to a report that two separate individuals arrived at a resi- dence on E Cowell St. at different times, sent by Dennis HEGEMAN threatening to cause physical harm if the individual did not return Hegeman's stolen bayonet. He- geman was contacted and admitted mak- ing a flyer with a $1000 reward to anybody who retrieves his bayonet and returns it to him "by any means necessary." Under Mi- randa, Hegeman also agreed to buying an "8 ball" of drugs to include heroin in return for his bayonet. Hegeman was arrested and booked into the La Paz County Detention Center where he was booked for violating ARS 13-2921.A.1 (Harassment), 13-1203. A.2 (Assault), 13-1202.A.l (Threatening and Intimidating), 13-1201.A (Endangerment), 13-1002.A (Solicitation) and 13-2904.A.1 (Disorderly Conduct.) Two counts for each individual who confronted. 6/08/17 QPD observed a dark blue 2010 Chevy Camaro on I-10 westbound near mile marker 21.5 failing to maintain its lane. Subsequently, a traffic stop revealed the driver, Sergio GRIMALDO was operat- ing the vehicle while his driving privileges were suspended in both Arizona and Cali- fornia for which he was cited and released as well as the vehicle being impounded. 6/09/17 Harold Lynch was involved in a pri- vate property crash on N. Riggles Avenue. Upon investigation Lynch was found to be a missing person out of Goodyear, Arizona. (Silver Alert). 6-09-17 at approximately 1845 hours, QPD was dispatched to the area of the 300 block of West Main Street in reference to a subject; later identified as Jehovah CREED, creating unreasonable noise by yelling which was witnessed by multiple residents in the area. A records check indi- cated Creed was wanted for two outstand- ing misdemeanor arrest warrants issued by the Flagstaff Municipal Court for Failure to Appear. Creed was arrested and booked into the La Paz County Jail for Disorderly Conduct and the two arrest warrants. 6/09/17 A woman reported that an unknown suspect(s) stole her Schwinn Tricycle from her residence on South Scott Lane. The victim advised this occurred on the days of 06/08/17 to 06/09/17 between the hours of 0800-1800 hours. 6/11/17 Julio AGUAYO was identified as a suspect and found in possession of the Schwinn stolen tricycle reported stolen on 6/09. Aguayo was found in possession of heroin and several identifications belong- ing to another victim. Aguayo was arrested and booked into La Paz Co. Detention Center. 6/09/17 QPD responded to E. Main Street in reference to a suspicious vehicle. Upon arriving on scene, it was discovered that the suspicious vehicle was reported as sto- len out of Phoenix, AZ. 6/09/17 A woman reported that an unknown suspect(s) stole the front license plate from her Dodge Ram truck. This occurred at her residence located on W. Main St. 6/11/17 QPD responded to a report that 2 year old was found walking around unat- tended. The parents later arrived on scene and took custody of child. 6/12/17 QPD investigated a theft crime that occurred on Riggles Ave. Upon investiga- tion, video surveillance footage revealed on 6/07/17 at approximately 2218 hours, Summer ODOM took two $5 non winning Arizona Lottery scratchers, got $10 cash from the safe and placed it in her register to cover up the missing money. QPD later contacted ODOM and placed her under arrest. Under Miranda, ODOM admitted to stealing and was cited and released for theft pursuant to Arizona Revised Statue 13-1802.A.1 6/12/2017 Two different witnesses called to report a black Chevrolet truck with AZ li- cense plate speeding and driving reckless- ly heading east on I-10 from approximately mile post 11. Both witnesses' statements were consistent with one another stating the driver of the vehicle was speeding, cutting people off causing them to almost drive off the shoulder of the Interstate and braking hard multiple times. QPD located the truck pulled off to the side of the road at mile post 18 and contacted the driver Jacob TELEP. Telep's statement was con- flicting with the two different witness state- ments and Telep was cited and released from the area for Reckless Driving pursu- ant to Arizona Revised Statue 28-693.A. 6/12/17 QPD and La Paz Co. Sheriff's Deputy responded to report that Ernestine FLORES threw a plastic plate of spaghetti at her husband on E. Sunrise Street. Dur- ing initial contact with E. Flores, she admit- ted throwing the plate at the fence causing the spaghetti to hit the victim. While at- tempting to handcuff her hands behind her back, she attempted to bite the officer two different times. A criminal history check re- vealed E. Flores two pending domestic vio- lence cases against her within the last 84 months. Under Miranda, E. Flores admitted she knew she had a non-contact protection order on her and admitted inviting over for dinner the night prior. E. Flores was booked into the La Paz County Detention Center for Aggravated Assault on a Peace Officer, Resisting Arrest and Aggravated Domestic Violence. QPD is requesting misdemeanor charges be filed on E. Flores for Assault per Domestic Violence, Disorderly Conduct per Domestic Violence and Interfering with Ju- dicial Proceedings per Domestic Violence. 6/13/17 QPD Assistant Christy Conley received a broken cellular telephone for safe keeping. 6/13/17 QPD responded to business on W. Main Street where an unknown suspect had committed theft of a wallet belonging to whom had left it in the restroom acci- dentally. 6-14-17 QPD responded to a report that Donna SOCKOL went to her Father's residence on W. Camel and yelled at him. She also screamed at a witness who was present. SOCKOL left the area prior to Po- lice arrival. She resides in the rear of her Father's residence. 6/15/17 QPD responded to a report on W. Main St. for an abandoned child. A resident found a 2 year old child in the middle of the road and called police. The child was returned to the parents Richard VANDU- SEN and Kayta MULDOON. Department of Child Safety was notified in reference to this second incident within a week. Both Vandusen and Muldoon were referred to the La Paz County Prosecutor for charges of Child Abuse. 6/16/17 QPD recovered property with the name Andrew CASTRO on it located at the intersection of Sunset and N. Central Blvd. Later Castros's mother and her Significant other reported Castro missing. During the investigation, Castro called his mother and reported he was currently in custody at the Yuma County Detention Center in Yuma, Arizona for reckless driving and resisting arrest.
