e Washington Alpha Delt 3 W ashington Chapter undergraduates actively strive to be the best fraternity on the West Coast. As the summer begins, I am happy to report the successes and improvements we have made toward this goal over the past school year. With the common goal of becoming the Entire Man: social, moral, and intellectual, deeply embedded into our brotherhood, I am most proud to report Washington Chapter's accomplishments in new member recruitment, academics, philanthropy, member activities, and intramurals. Brothers Hold High Hopes for New Member Class This past year, the recruitment efforts of the Washington Chapter were extremely successful. This year's incoming class included new members hailing from local high schools such as Bellevue High School, Seattle Prep, Mercer Island, and Newport High School, as well as from out-of-state locations such as Southern California, the Bay Area, Portland, and Wisconsin. This new class was especially successful during their pledge quarter, posting the highest initiation quarter GPAs since the chapter's restart! We are extremely excited for what this new class has to offer. Their leadership potential, passion for chapter traditions, and great personalities give me and the rest of the upperclassmen confidence that the chapter will be in good hands for years to come. Washington Chapter Earns Top Fraternity GPA We take academics very seriously and aim to be within the top five in cumulative grade point averages for fraternities at UW each quarter. I am very excited to report we were awarded first in grades for the autumn quarter with a cumulative GPA of 3.49. We plan to continue these academic efforts and have a housewide goal of achieving a GPA on the UW Dean's List, which is 3.5 and above. Prioritizing Philanthropic Endeavors Throughout my tenure as president, I have seen Washington Chapter's involvement in external philanthropic events, and also the improvement that we have made to our own event, Bubble Bash. We take philanthropy very seriously and participate in many of the sorority events, raising money for a wide variety of causes. This year we have participated in events for Delta Gamma, Gamma Phi Beta, Kappa Alpha Theta, Kappa Delta, Pi Beta Phi, and many more. Increased On-Campus Involvement In the final months of the school year, brothers thoroughly stepped up their involvement on campus within clubs and other extracurricular activities. We have members in many different programs throughout campus, ranging from the Interfraternal Council Standards Board, the Student Senate, Campus Partnerships division of the Student Government (ASUW), and the Greek Ambassador programs. We also have brothers that hold employment at the Husky Union Building, UW Recreation Department, and for UW's newspaper, The Daily. Members have also had success within their majors, and one brother is president of the Finance Association within the Foster School of Business and was awarded the Most Improved Registered Student Organization within the Foster School. The Future of Washington Chapter The Washington Chapter members and I are excited about our successes and improvements over the past months, and we look forward to further progressing as a chapter. We would like to thank alumni and members for their support and involvement since the restart of the Washington Chapter in 2008. We would like to invite alumni to drop by the chapter house to visit, as the doors are always open to our brothers.
