D elta Nu was recolonized in 2011 and rechartered on April 27, 2013, with 40 members. Whether in the classroom or in the community, ATW is striving to once again become a dominant fraternity at UND. e membership is composed of brothers seeking to excel as campus leaders with an emphasis in both philanthropy and community service. Philanthropy Philanthropy is a top priority for the brothers of ATW. e men have sought strategic partnerships within the Grand Forks community to maximize their success. e chapter supports all sorority philanthropies on top of a few of their own. Annually, the brothers host the Alpha Tau Omega Mini Masters and the Alpha Tau Luau on our 3000 University Avenue property. ey also work closely with Circle of Friends Humane Society for their annual Raise Your Paws event. e most recent event raised a total of $28,184. Community Service Our chapter requires 20 service hours per member each semester. It has been the goal of the Delta Nu Chapter to go above and beyond with our volunteer hours. e chapter reported a total of 4,325 hours of volunteer time during the 2014-15 year. With a total of 39 brothers at the time, that equals just over 110 hours per brother. Volunteering for Safe Kids and the Circle of Friends Humane Society have continued to be favorites for the Delta Nu brothers. "e men of Delta Nu have the primary goal of returning the ATW legacy back to its original identity. We recognize the importance of setting a high standard for one another and believe our efforts will attract alumni to once more invest in the Delta Nu Chapter." –Marshal Swenson '18, Worthy Master Alpha Tau Omega Delta Nu Chapter Grades Delta Nu has consistently ranked among the top half of fraternities and higher than both the all-male and all-fraternity GPAs in the last three years. e chapter achieved a 3.01 GPA in both the fall 2015 and spring 2016 semesters. e fall 2016 pledge class GPA was a 3.19 and ranked second among all UND fraternities. Campus Recognition ATW is a recognized leader in both the Greek community and among all UND organizations as well. Delta Nu was recently recognized with numerous awards for organizational excellence. ATW won the Excellence in Brotherhood and Outstanding Chapter awards at the Greek awards ceremony in January. In addition, the chapter was recognized as the Outstanding Student Organization among all 250- plus UND student organizations. delta nu today "It is an exciting time in the world of fraternities and sororities! Nationally, many organizations are experiencing rapid chapter and membership growth. e North-American Interfraternity Conference (www.nicindy.org) reports that 380,487 undergraduates are members of 6,186 fraternity chapters on roughly 800 college/university campuses. Membership in UND's Greek community has also increased in recent years. As of fall 2016, 1,275 students, or 12% of the UND undergraduate student body, are involved with Greek life on campus.
