Although her responsibilities as a student and active member were time consuming, Rachel looks back on them with fondness. Rachel is married to her husband, Sol, and enjoys her work as a stay-at-home mother to their four children, Finley, Braden, Keaton, and Merritt. In July 2016, her 5-year-old son caught a cold that led to an attack on his spinal cord, leaving him paralyzed and unable to breathe or swallow. "We've spent the last nine months living in hospitals, advocating and fighting for him to get the care he needs to get well," shared Rachel. "He was diagnosed with acute flaccid myelitis and has made a lot of progress, but still has far to go. "We're optimistic he'll regain enough strength to no longer need a trach and ventilator one day. He's nothing short of a miracle." Being a mom and fighting alongside her son during his health battle are Rachel's proudest achievements. In her spare time, she enjoys family time, reading, and documenting her son's fight against AFM on her social media page: www. facebook.com/teambradenluke. Rachel ran the Boston Marathon last April and has completed 10 in total over her lifetime. Her very first marathon was during her time as Gamma Zeta's chapter president.
