A
s we look to the future and second century of Alpha
Lambda, it is easy to see that updates and maintenance
to the chapter house are necessary. e fraternity and
its alumni must invest in our home to meet the needs of today's
students. Considering all options while working with a select
group of alumni who have experience in design, development,
renovations, and project planning, the Alpha Lambda Housing
Corporation has determined that a renovation is the most cost
effective way to move forward. In a renovation, our plan would
include:
• Site Improvements: Updates to include the building
envelope, property lighting, and landscaping for structural
durability and aesthetic appeal
• Study Space: Provide ample study space, including areas
for individual and group study, as well as wireless internet
access throughout the facility
• Meeting Space: Provide meeting and common space that
is adequate for a growing undergraduate chapter
• Interior Updates: Update interior furnishings, fixtures,
and flooring to provide a modern look and feel to the
facility
• Systems and Safety: Repair or replace heating and cooling,
plumbing, and electrical systems to accommodate the
volume/size of the house and address safety issues with
updating sprinklers, fire-rated doors, and full compliance
with code specifications
• Endowment: Develop an endowment for a scholarship
program to further the level and scope of scholarships,
regardless of external economic factors
