"Pledgeship and learning the protocol in the fraternity really helped me prepare for the Marines, which I was part of for four years after college. The active brothers, especially the upperclassmen, helped me to hold myself to a higher standard." As an alumnus, Adam makes it a priority to interact with brothers regularly, primarily through football Saturday events at Mizzou, visiting the house, and connecting with the active members. "I was very impressed with the young men I've met in the chapter; there is no doubt in my mind they are heading down a successful path." The quality membership is just one of several reasons why Adam has been a generous supporter of the Proud to Be a Phi – Continuing 150 Years of Tradition campaign. "I want to see the chapter continue to reach new heights and remain one of the premier fraternities on campus; however, the only way to ensure this is to give back and be active participants in this campaign. If you haven't added your name to this historic project, there is no better time than now to do so." Adam is an emergency medicine doctor in Columbia, Missouri, and is a member of Mizzou's faculty through the university's School of Medicine. He received his medical degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences and has been practicing in medicine ever since. As a doctor, Adam has made a positive, lasting impact on many lives not only locally but internationally. In 2013, Adam launched Global First Responder, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides international medical relief, education, and community development with mission trips to Haiti, Congo, Ethiopia, Jordan, India, Morocco, Cambodia Brazil, Central America, and elsewhere. He says, "This organization has expanded drastically over the past few years and is reaching more countries in need. Global First Responder was started in Haiti after the earthquake." Adam's brother, Matt, has volunteered on occasions to travel to these countries and help provide medical relief as well. You can send Adam an e-mail at statdoc72@yahoo.com. This spring semester has been filled with many new, exciting times for the Phi Delts of Missouri Alpha. We have accomplished many achievements, from ranking second in grades throughout the entire fraternal system to completing work on the fire pit at the house, and finally our position to become a charter. Overall, our growth as a chapter has far exceeded initial expectations and we hope to continue growing as Phis. I am available at any time for alumni to reach out and get updates on our chapter at (618) 570-6248. I hope the following information informs you of what our chapter has been up to and our most recent accomplishments.
