Epsilon Beta Chapter 4 E psilon Beta Chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma is finishing up our spring semester strong! Our new chapter council is very passionate toward positive change and growth for our chapter. It is an amazing group of women who have creative and fun ideas to execute throughout this next term. We can't wait to see the strides we make as a team and are excited to promote passion within our chapter! StronG CaMpUS InvoLvEMEnt So far, we have had woman participate in many activities, including St. Jude Up 'til Dawn, Fraternity and Sorority Fest, philanthropic events around campus, sisterhood events, and more! Soon, we will be teaming up with Alpha Tau Omega in hosting a new philanthropic event called Greek Sing, which is a karaoke night. The proceeds will be split between the two organizations, and our portion will be donated to Reading is Fundamental. SprInG InItIatIon This semester, we have also had the pleasure of adding one new member to our amazing sisterhood! We hosted a spring initiation at Epsilon Beta on April 28-29 to have her, along with some women from the fall '16 pledge class, get initiated before the end of the semester. Even though spring semester is slightly more laid back when it comes to events, we are still really enjoying strengthening our bond as sisters in as many ways as possible. We are excited to share the amazing things we have been doing; feel free to check out our website (listed on page 6) to stay up-to-date with our chapter as well. CHaptEr prESIdEnt oF tHE YEar This semester, the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life at CSU hosted the annual FS Awards. We were honored to be named as finalists in the categories of Excellence in Risk Management and Harm Reduction, Service and Philanthropy, and Membership Development, as well as the individual nominations for Chapter President of the Year (Megan Agras '13) and Member of the Year (Abbie Barrett '16). Out of those, we came home with the awards for Chapter President of the Year and Excellence in Risk Management and Harm Reduction! KICKIn' It wItH Kappa On April 8, we hosted our second annual Kickin' It with Kappa event—a soccer tournament hosted at the intramural fields, with warm weather and delicious food. The money we raised benefitted our national philanthropy, Reading is Fundamental. aCadEMIC ExCELLEnCE Over the past year we maintained our GPA above the all-university women's average, and in the spring semester we raised it even more! Our chapter averaged a 3.06 GPA, ranking us seventh out of 12 sororities. We also had 56 scholars, which are women who receive a GPA of 3.5 or above. Our chapter is looking forward to continuing in this positive direction and cannot wait for the new accomplishments and opportunities that may arise in the coming year!
