Mom's Club Events Yield Positive
Response from Chapter
L
ast fall, as the men of Sigma Phi Epsilon
welcomed new members, we welcomed
new parents to the Chapter. We also had the
opportunity to meet the new housemother,
Diann Veith! Family Weekend included a
tailgate barbecue at the Chapter House before
the game. Mother Nature was not cooperating
with the weather this year, but fun was had
by all.
The men of SigEp welcomed their fathers (and
brothers!) for Dad's Weekend on October 15,
2016. The day started with a round of golf at
Colbert Hills. Since the Wildcats were playing
OU in football with an early kickoff, the men
played nine holes, had lunch and watched the
game, then finished their round after the game.
Money was raised for the Kansas Beta Chapter
and another successful Dad's Weekend
was complete.
The Parent's Club continues to sponsor
monthly pizza nights one Sunday each month,
which has been well received by the men. The
Parent's Club is also helping to defer the cost
of security upgrades to the house with money
raised at Dad's and Mom's Weekend events!
This spring, the men welcomed their mothers
to the house for Mom's Weekend on April 8
with lunch, a silent auction, and bowling. We
look forward to another exciting year at Sigma
Phi Epsilon.
Sincerely,
Sharon Henes
Mom's Club President

ALUMNI NEWS
Max A. Krey '49 enjoys reading news from
his Kansas Beta brothers in The Hoop of Steel,
hearing updates from KSU, and watching games
on TV. "I'm doing great at 95 and pleased to
say my wife, Helen, and I still live in the same
house we moved into in 1964, here in Grand
Junction, Colorado." Max would love to hear
from his brothers from the 1940s and says, "If
any of you guys are still around, give me a call
at (970) 242-1134."
