W e are deeply grateful to the 123 brothers, the undergraduate chapter, and friends of the fraternity who have contributed $2.56 million to the Think Back. Think Big. Think Beta. campaign. These alumni recognize the importance of ensuring the future of Gamma Lambda and have demonstrated a sense of gratitude for their personal experience. Commitments are still needed from the rest of our alumni to achieve our goal of $4 million. All donors contributing a minimum of $2,500 or more to the campaign, over a five-year period, will be recognized on a donor wall prominently displayed in the chapter house. If an error has been made in recording your gift, or your name has been mistakenly omitted or listed improperly, we sincerely apologize. Please advise our campaign coordinator at (785) 843-1661 so that we may make a correction. Campaign Status At-a-Glance Think Back. Think Big. Think Beta. In the Beginning I t was Saturday, May 11, 1940, at 7:30 p.m. when the Big Red Island was dedicated and opened. Of our over 2,400 chapter roll numbers, only about the first 320 brothers have resided somewhere else. For 77 years, more than 2,000 Gamma Lambda men have lived at our affectionately called "1207" chapter house and have built our reputation as a cornerstone of the Greek community at Oklahoma State University. As young men, we matured in our four years in the chapter house, learned about mutual assistance, created memories we'll cherish for a lifetime, and bonded with brothers who are some of our best friends in life. We left Stillwater ready for what life had in store for us as balanced men with character and principles that would, and do, serve us well in life. As you know, our treasured house has run its course and stands today on borrowed time. The 3.406 GPA last semester has likely never been surpassed since our founding in 1923. Our brotherhood continues to maintain a unique bond that we all can see at alumni gatherings and in the major accomplishments taking place by our chapter brothers. Beta at Oklahoma State is now at a major fork in the road. What we face is either replacing the house that served us so well and building a new Island with a similar face and modern interior, thereby preserving our heritage for many years to come, or spiraling downward, because we will no longer be able to compete with other fraternities who have already renovated or built new facilities. We need all of our active, living members to rise and commit themselves to a new house that will make us all proud. A new facility will provide future brothers a modern-day home for activities and experiences that we were so fortunate to enjoy. In our chapter days, we took away leadership skills, wonderful memories, lifelong core values, and Betas-for-life friendships. We now need to give back however we can. By giving back, each of us can make a difference. Yours in _kai_, Campaign Committee As of April 7, 2017 $4 Million Campaign Goal $2.56 Million Total Commitments 123 Contributors 1,340 Mailable Alumni
