Some of our members were part of the winning team during Zeta Tau Alpha's Linedance, a philanthropic event supporting breast cancer awareness. Staying Humble and Hungry Chapter Makes Strides in Recruitment, Campus Involvement, and Philanthropic Service A s we headed into our first operating semester nearly eight months ago, we were left with these words of wisdom, "stay humble, and stay hungry." We have certainly remained hungry for success and excellence and have made great strides in recruitment, community impact, and overall chapter operations. Recruiting Quality Men Perhaps one of the most notable milestones we passed this semester happened during recruitment. We have doubled the size of our Chapter since spring 2016 with a total of 76 brothers. Our vice president of recruitment, Ryan Decker '19, has been relentless in his pursuit of the best men on campus, recruiting 21 men since the beginning of the semester, and he's not done yet. More significantly, we have not sacrificed our high standards in this rapid growth. We again had the highest fraternity GPA on campus with a 3.55. Involved Across Campus We have not only recruited high-achieving men, but we have helped those individuals reach even greater heights outside the Chapter. This year, we put forward two Student Government senators. Our vice president of member development, Noah Cellura '19, and Graham Boone '20 serve as the District A and sophomore senators, respectively. Additionally, our brothers continue to be positive influences on campus through Campus Diplomats, the Heavener Business School, and many more organizations. Community Impact This semester, SigEp partnered with Sigma Chi and Sigma Alpha Epsilon to put on our first philanthropic event, The Sigma BBQ. We invited the entire Greek community to enjoy delicious food and live music for a great cause. We were able to raise funds upwards of $2,000 for Family Promise, an organization that helps the homeless in the surrounding community. We hope to host this wonderful event next spring in our newly renovated Residential Learning Community. Of course, these successes are shared by everyone: the undergraduate Chapter, the AVC, the Chapter support team, and alumni. Our present and future successes depend on our collective efforts to continuously develop and raise the bar. I want to give special recognition to the entire undergraduate executive board. Never in my life have I worked with such a talented, driven group and I would be honored if I ever worked with such a team again. We've become a well-oiled machine, and I know that together, we can accomplish anything we set our minds to. With an ambitious undergraduate Chapter and alumni who are dedicated to future of our Chapter, the idea of being the best organization on campus is now realizable. Stay hungry.
