Alpha Epsilon Phi - University of Illinois

I have recently returned from my spring House Corporation visit to Mu Chapter and have a lot of information to share with you. Joining me during my visit was Chapter Advisor Marni Waters Walner '01, and we met with the very dedicated members of the chapter executive board. During the visit, we also met with an archivist from the University, and many chapter items were donated for preservation, digitization and cataloging. We are so excited to partner with the archives to preserve the chapter artifacts and history, and we hope you will also donate some of your AEPhi items to this collection. The chapter members are planning an alumnae event for fall semester, which will most likely be hosted during Homecoming weekend. We also hope to have a Chicago alumnae event in the summer. Be on the lookout for updates on these events. The most exciting news is that Mu is just three years away from the centennial anniversary of the chapter's chartering on May 3, 1920! A centennial celebration is scheduled for May 2-3, 2020, in Champaign. Not only do we hope many alumnae attend, but we also need chapter alumnae to serve on the Centennial Celebration Committee. Please consider this exciting opportunity to plan Mu's celebration and contact House Director Holly Scheeringa Umland '05 with your interest. With the assistance of designers from Custom Flooring in Champaign, we are completing updates to the first floor of the house. Many major projects need to be completed as we try to stay competitive with other chapters on campus and meet the needs of today's students. These include: R New windows on all floors (first floor to be completed this summer) R Structural remodeling of the kitchen R New appliances and flooring in the kitchen R Remodeling the sink and toilet sections of the bedroom- floor bathrooms The house corporation and the chapter members are so appreciative of the alumnae who have contributed to the Mu Chapter annual giving campaign. Your support and commitment to Mu Chapter is important as we work to provide a well- appointed home for our members in time for the centennial milestone, and for years to come.
