3 Bishop Seabury Academy Building on our mission Looking Forward to Seabury's Next 20 Years O ver the years, the school leadership has made financial investments in the facilities to respond to moments of growth: the transition to the present campus and the addition of the Reese Hall language and performing arts building, the FEMA shelter and locker rooms, and the expanded parking lot and Commons. Through strategic expansion of the facilities, the leadership has supported and encouraged academic success and the school's mission. Today, the school population has nearly doubled since moving to the present campus. As resources have become limited and space is at a premium, the faculty and staff have more challenges as they work to develop successful students. Once again, the leadership is responding to this important moment of the school's growth as they plan to develop a safe, modern, integrated, and inspiring campus that will respond to the school's present challenges and fulfill the original ambitions of the founders of Bishop Seabury Academy. 2017 2018 2016 Summer 2017: Modifications made to architectural plans 2017-18 School Year: Creation of renderings and formal design plans 2018: Capital Campaign 2019 2020 2019-20 School Year: Permit processing and construction August 2020: Campus dedication "So many of us have committed ourselves to this school because we see its powerful and significant impact on our students. They come to us as little children with unbridled and unfocused enthusiasm, and they graduate as young men and women of strong character, independence, and compassion. It is a profound and deeply moving process fostered by a culture that is both demanding and rewarding; a culture of respect, responsibility, and excellence in all things. To this day, I cannot speak about Stepping Up without choking on my emotions. That most hallowed of our traditions calls up the essential truth behind our school: this is the way we make lives meaningful. Is it any surprise that adults also step up to support this school?" - Don Schawang, Head of School *Timeline is contingent upon results of the feasibility study.
