Bishop Seabury Academy 2 Academics, Arts, and Athletics The Foundation of the Seabury Experience T he Seabury experience is more than the campus. However, it is the campus that provides the students, faculty, and staff the ability to achieve excellence in the classroom and outside activities. The Seabury culture stresses individual initiative, and students are called upon daily to take leadership roles in social, academic, and extracurricular contexts. The leadership is looking at the school comprehensively as it considers how to ensure Bishop Seabury is serving every facet of its students' needs today and in the future. Bishop Seabury's tradition of academic excellence is the result of exceptional faculty and individualized attention to students. Experienced and engaging educators inspire both middle and upper school students. The needs of students are ever-changing and with the student population growth, expansion of the campus' academic classrooms and labs is essential. This additional and reconfigured space will allow Seabury faculty and staff to hold instruction periods in a physical structure and personal classroom rather than in shared/transitional classrooms. Additionally, having an atmosphere throughout the campus that complements student studies will only enhance the Seabury experience. The opportunities Bishop Seabury affords its students are often what attract families to consider and then choose Seabury. Seabury faculty members are inspiring and dedicated to the student body both inside and outside of the classrooms. Advising groups are a great example of the Bishop Seabury culture. These types of traditions make Seabury a unique and welcoming community. During a student's most formative years, it is crucial to provide a supportive environment that will challenge and encourage the student's whole self. Not only are the athletic and fine arts programs at the forefront of extracurricular activities for all students to get involved, but service outings and educational field trips also complement the curriculum and provide the student body exposure to the world around us.
