Epsilon Calls Epsilon Chapter of Alpha Xi Delta • University of South Dakota • Spring 2017 T his is really happening! We are building a new home at 214 North Plum Street. Let that sink in for just a moment. Coming Home: The Campaign for 214 North Plum Street is just a few months away from becoming a reality and producing something amaXing for Alpha Xi Delta. YOUR GIFT NEEDED TO BEGIN CONSTRUCTION The excitement builds with every small step we take in this process. We have encountered an interesting hesitancy by some of our alumnae, and I wanted to touch on this. Alumnae have reached out to say they will give— but only if they know we have a construction contract or bank funding is in place. The tricky thing is we need your pledge in place to get our bank loan and begin construction. Bank funding is dependent on the total amount of pledges we have in place when we go to sign those bank loan documents. The bank would like to see us have $1.4 million in pledges to fund our full project as planned. As I type this note, we have raised just over $888,000. This is amaXing! But we can do better. The final project we build for the future of Epsilon Chapter is up to you. It's up to every alumna coming together to help us reach our fundraising goals. You can set your pledge to begin at a future date, but please consider sending that pledge in now. MAKE YOUR GIFT TODAY There are several ways you can pledge toward the building of the new Epsilon Chapter house. You can give a one-time gift, or make a pledge spread out over five years with yearly, quarterly, or monthly payments. You can also make your tax-deductible gifts to the Foundation via credit card on their online giving page at www.alphaxidelta.org/forms/alpha-xi-delta- online-giving-form. Please use the enclosed pledge forms to send in your pledge today. Every amount is appreciated and helpful. I know all of you were touched by Alpha Xi Delta in a meaningful way—now is your chance to give back. WHAT IS NEXT? Several committees are working simultaneously right now to help make all of the small things come together. We have a tentative timeline for the next year and a half. Please take a look at the timeline on pages 2 and 3. Please note, dates and schedule are not finalized and are subject to change. This campaign journey will culminate in the celebration of 115 years of Epsilon at the University of South Dakota. That's right; this campaign is more than a new home. It is a 115-year anniversary gift to the women of Epsilon Chapter. The oldest, longest- standing sorority on the University of South Dakota campus is building a new home. You are shaping the future of our sorority. On behalf of the corporation board, I would like to thank everyone who has contributed their time, talent, and treasure to this campaign. Cheers to another century of inspiring women to realize their potential.
