iOWa sTaTe universiTy page 3 W ith a new year comes a new executive board, which I am proud to lead. The chapter could not be more excited to see what everyone is going to add this year. Everyone was thrilled to get the semester going, especially upon learning that our chapter GPA for the fall semester was a 3.06. One of our many focuses this semester will again be working toward the True Merit award. The chapter has continued to show growth and improvement over the past few semesters, and we plan to maintain this progress. RECRuiTiNG QuALiTy MEN Spring '17 began with more great developments. Eight members of the fall pledge class moved into the house. Then, on January 29, we welcomed 18 new members into the brotherhood as active members in the chapter. We also have 10 new members in the spring pledge class, our third straight year of having a double-digit spring pledge class. We are very proud of our continued growth in recruiting quality men. We are excited to see what these new members will bring to the table. CHAPTER HouSE uPDATES The chapter house now features completely upgraded Wi-Fi capabilities throughout the facility, with fiber optic connections throughout the house. We are thrilled with the super-fast speed that these improvements have brought and are very thankful for alumni support, which made these upgrades possible. So many positive things have been happening between brotherhood events and socials, that it is easy to get distracted and lose track of school. But with the current scholarship program in place, there is no doubt we will be staying in the right direction for academics this semester as well. PLANNiNG FoR A BuSy SEMESTER We also have many events planned this semester, including ATW spring break trips, Greek Week with Kappa Kappa Gamma and Triangle Fraternity, Lip Sync, new community service and philanthropic projects, spring formal, and others. The energy in the house is great. Everyone is excited to see the warm weather again and get out on the deck this season. We are looking to keep the momentum this semester and bring home another True Merit award this summer and hopefully bring home some hardware for our formal room from Vespers this spring.
