New Members and Executive Board Prepared for Busy Spring Semester T he semester is off to a great start! We opened 2017 with our new executive board ready to start the year off right. While the spring semester is always full of heavy course loads and busy schedules, these 13 women have been working hard to ensure this semester is the best yet. We have set goals to develop our chapter brand, foster leadership, maintain campus involvement, and help encourage positivity among our members. With the help of our new chapter advisory board, we look forward to seeing huge improvements throughout the year. From February 13-17, the women of Gamma Iota went throughout campus to celebrate Healthy Relationships Week. Each day, we passed out goodies, valentines, and candy to spread awareness. Though some may have thought we were just passing out lollipops and writing on chalk boards, our goal was to share information about healthy relationships. VP Chapter Relations and Standards Catherine Palmer '15, VP Risk Management Audrey Trace '15, and I attended the Leadership Academy in January. We met sisters from across the country and introduced ourselves to Headquarters staff member and Gamma Iota alumna, Kathleen Tucker '07. This semester, VP Recruitment Madison Herrmann '14 helped Gamma Iota recruit a class of eight new members. Since spring recruitment, these eight women have fit perfectly into the chapter with the help of VP New Member Education Jessica Goldman '15. The new members recently celebrated their Big/Little reveal, and we have had a great time getting to know them. We are happy to have our sweet new members, and their initiation on March 16 was a joyous occasion. With sisters involved in Florida Cicerones, Project Makeover, the Panhellenic Executive Board, Florida Women in Business, club gymnastics, Campus Diplomats, CAP Mentors, Freshman Leadership Council, and Florida Blue Key, we are proud to say that every member of our chapter is involved at UF. While there is never a dull moment at Gamma Iota, we wouldn't trade it for anything else. I look forward to sharing all of our successes with you in the fall.
