T ri Delta Executive Office wisely recommends term limits for leadership posts. Besides spreading the joy, I now know another good reason: how many messages from the president can one person write?! Now, those of you who know me know I am never at a loss for words, but I may be getting close! So while this will be my last president's letter, it will certainly not be the end of the importance of DDD in my life. As a collegian, the importance of DDD was obvious. Sisters made up your closest circle of friends, and the Tri Delta House was a place to share fun and heartbreaks, to eat comfort food away from home, to provide structure in an unstructured time, and to find encouragement to be all you could be. But most of us could never imagine that those ties would truly be lifelong and not to just the members in our chapter, our town, our state, or even our decade. As an active DDD alumna, I have made so many new friends of all ages and walks of life and I would not trade the experience for anything. So I encourage you to become more active in your DDD alumnae group, or with the collegiate chapter. The organization needs you. Our collegians need role models, and as in most worthwhile pursuits, you'll get more than you give from the experience. We will meet as a group again on Sunday, April 30, at 1:30 p.m. for the annual House Corporation meeting. The truth is most of you have never been to a House Corporation meeting, and do not even think you are a House Corporation member. However, we are all the House Corporation. This includes all Delta Mu alumnae, all the Tuscaloosa area DDDs, regardless of their chapter affiliation, and any DDDs who ask to belong to Delta Mu's House Corporation. Those of us who meet regularly throughout the year are the elected Board of Directors of the House Corporation, but you are the House Corporation. The annual meeting is your chance to find out what is going on, speak your mind, and visit with your friends. Please consider coming; we need your support! At this meeting, the nominating committee will present the slate of new directors. Additionally, nominations can be made from the floor. We will also review what has been done over the past year and map out plans for the next year. The slate is presented below: Additionally, a large group of the '66 new member class ('67 initiates) will celebrate their 50-year Golden Circle Degree here in June. They will stay in local homes and hotels, tour the Tri Delta House and hold their ceremony in the dining room under the clerestory, which serves as a reminder of our dear "Round House." We will report on all the details next fall and hope that this will encourage other groups to organize reunions! Thank you for all of your support over the last four years and for your support for the new president who will be elected in April. Delta Mu's Donation Helps Establish Fund for Students in Need Reprinted from UA Media Relations A new fund for University of Alabama students facing need was recently established through the donation of a UA sorority chapter. The Tide Together Student Support Fund provides assistance to UA students in need or crisis who are identified through the University's Office of Student Care and Well-Being. Funds may be used to purchase food, personal hygiene items, lodging, transportation, gift cards, groceries and other essentials for a student in need.
