Welcome, New Members unDergraDuates earn top results for campus involvement Chapter Striving for Continued Improvement W ith the introduction of our new chapter house, the fall semester was very exciting for Zeta Chi. That momentum remained with the active chapter throughout the semester. We placed in the top three on campus for sports, philanthropy, and community service hours per member. Furthermore, Zeta Chi placed in the top 10 best recruiting Pike chapters in the world. New Chapter Officers Implement Change Last fall, the chapter earned a GPA of 2.99. The in-house members led the fraternity, achieving a GPA of 3.11. This far surpasses the fraternity GPA at 2.98. However, because we are Pikes, we are always looking for ways to improve. Newly appointed Scholarship Chairman Tyler Swearingin '16 will be implementing systems to increase accountability and incentivize the improvement of grades. We initiated 35 new members in the fall, placing Zeta Chi amongst the top 10 Pike chapters in the world for recruitment. Recruitment Chairman Adam Basler '15 is working on plans to implement summer recruitment events, which Zeta Chi has not done in the past. Undergraduates Excel on Campus The chapter raised a total of $2,849 during the fall semester. That number earned us the third-highest ranking in philanthropic donations on campus. Some of our highlighted philanthropic events were the infamous Pike Fireman's Challenge and Tube Tug. We also recorded great community service hours throughout the semester. The men of Zeta Chi paired with the women of Delta Zeta sorority (our Homecoming pairing) and put on a service day in Springfield. With a total of 230 people participating, the event resulted in more than 600 community service hours. Last fall, we also participated in flag football, soccer, volleyball, bowling, softball, and roller hockey. We earned second place in four of the six events. This resulted in Pike being placed number one overall in sports. Additionally, Ryan Dansby '14 represented Pike while serving as the treasurer of the IFC executive board and Colin Carmean '15 was elected to the IFC executive board this spring. Join Us for Alumni Weekend May 5-7 We had a blast spending time with many of our alumni that came to the chapter house during Homecoming. We cannot thank our alumni enough for all the support they give. We would like to invite all alumni and significant others to attend our Alumni Weekend event on May 5-7 with the opening day of this event also being the Zeta Chi refounding day (May 5). It will surely be a great time to be a Zeta Chi Pike. We are very proud of the men that put in the hard work that resulted in all of Pike's accomplishments last semester. However, there is always room for improvement. During the spring semester, our focus is improving our GPA and philanthropic donations. On behalf of all the men in the Zeta Chi Chapter, we would like to thank all our alumni. This new house is truly a dream come true. With that, we extend an open offer to all alumni to stop by the chapter house any time. We would love to have you and hear some of your stories.
