TAU CHAPTER OF THETA CHI FRATERNITY AT THE UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA TAU TOPICS Spring 2017 Continued Contributions Needed to Fulfil Capital Campaign Totals A s the excitement from our Centennial Celebration dwindles, we look forward to the next 100 years of Tau Chapter, the beginning of a new year, and all 2017 has to offer. As the undergraduate Chapter begins the Spring semester on a high note, we hope you will join them in hosting an alumni gathering at the Orange and Blue game on Friday, April 7. The 2017 intrasquad scrimmage will be a preview of what Gator football has to offer and a chance to socialize with active brothers. Then, on Saturday, April 8, beginning at 1 p.m., join us for a special afternoon, which will include a catered meal, prominent speakers, and reminiscing of our first 100 years on the University of Florida campus. More information about the game and alumni gathering will be shared closer to the event. To RSVP, please e-mail me at bradjonesuf@yahoo.com or Bruce Hoffmann '68 at repgator@embarqmail.com. Continue Your Commitment to Theta Chi In 2013, Tau Chapter proudly announced the completion of our capital campaign with contributions totaling $1,884,240. To reach this amount, alumni committed generous pledges paid over five years, and to date, we have collected $1,395,560. We are grateful for the generosity alumni showed during our capital campaign, and we expect to receive the majority of outstanding funds by 2020. However, as of February 20, $339,571 is past due and less than 40 percent of pledges have been paid fully. We undertook a tremendous building project trusting alumni would fulfil their pledges, and support to the campaign remains as vital now as it was when we first announced. Update Your Payment Schedule To help reach our 2020 goal, if you would like to restructure your payment schedule, please let us know and we are happy to work with you to arrange a schedule that best suits your commitment. Additionally, many brothers choose to make online payments on their pledges. We understand credit cards expire or are replaced, and it is important to update your new card information to keep your payments on schedule. To update your credit card information or payment schedule, or to get an update on the current status of your pledge, please contact our campaign coordinator at (785) 843-1661 or mhenry@penningtonco.com. Preserve Tau Chapter's Legacy Since the completion of the capital campaign, we have shifted our focus from the Chapter House to other various Chapter needs. To preserve our Chapter and ensure our brotherhood is strong for the next 100 years, alumni support is vital. Whether you are donating your time or money, alumni involvement is the backbone of the fraternity. We hope to see many of you at various events this spring, and invite you all to join us on April 7-8 for the Orange and Blue weekend. Fraternally, Brad Jones '96 Realty Board President bradjonesuf@yahoo.com Zane Katz '14, Jon Dollfus '14, Stephen Mack '14, Stephen Berg '14, Shane Hanney '14, and Mike Mamrak '14 road tripped to Nashville, Tenn., to cheer on the Gators at the Florida vs. Vanderbilt game.
