Setting it straight –––––––– It is the policy of the Daily News to correct as quickly as possible all errors in fact that have been published in the newspaper. If you feel a factual error has been made in a news story, call the news department at 527-2153. I have come across a lot of peo- ple in my life-time in Red Bluff. I have seen people who come from all walks of life. I know people who are fashionistas, pillars of commu- nity involvement, ultimate parents, hard workers, philanthropists and some who are just here to ride the wave of life and see where they land. Everyone has their niche in life. Everyone has their way to make a difference for themselves and their family. You may be known for your cooking skills, perhaps you can fix anything, or, like me, you have a gift of being a cheerleader of sorts and you motivate people. Barbra Casteel is almost all of the great things in life that you can be. She is honest, hardworking and a devoted mother and wife. She is a concerned and active community member and she sells the heck out of Pampered Chef, a product she uses and believes in. When I think of Barbra I think of one word; ded- icated. In all that she does, she is dedicated to doing it. She loves to be, do and have all that she can for her family. She loves to be part of the solution for anyone. If you need her or something she has, she will make it available to you for your benefit without ever worrying about if or how it affects her. One story I have about Barbra is funny and somewhat revealing of my inner tween that still lives inside my 43 year-old body. I never got on board with the Twilight scene. I had heard the hype but I never under- stood the draw to teenage vampire love. Somehow I escaped the choosing of vampire and werewolf teams and avoided all things Kris- ten Stewart until the end. One day I was bored, really bored, when it occurred to me that maybe I should watch the Twilight movies. Enter Barbra who I am convinced is the ambas- sador for all things Twi- light. She saw my post on Facebook asking to borrow any movies as we have nowhere to rent them in town, but I digress. She delivered her special edition boxed series for my viewing pleasure which I watched in its' entirety from 2:00 p.m. until 2:00 a.m. She then loaned me the last book so I could end the suffering of not knowing how it all ends for the beloved characters. Along the way, she sold me some Pampered Chef for Meaggan's dorm room and she thanked me kindly for buying meat at her husband's butcher shop. Her final gesture was an invitation to sit with her for the release of the final movie in the Twilight series, which I gladly accepted. These are small things that make Faydra Rector You Matter Be like Barbra, embrace your inner tween and profess your love for Twilight or anything else that floats your boat. When you see a need, fill it. When you have a chance to be kind, do it. When you have a chance to loan some- thing, loan it and you may start a brand new friendship along the way. a great person. To lend what you have for other people's hap- piness. To make yourself and your personal belong- ings available to others. Barbra, you matter because how you are at the core is beautiful. You embrace the joy that is in life. You allow the simple pleasures like supporting your son's sports and loving your hus- band to be at the forefront of life's important details. You are friendly to every- one, not just people in your inner circle. You are kind and you are not afraid to be who you are.
