FARMHOUSE FRATERNITY Nebraska Chapter / University of Nebraska-Lincoln www.nebraskafarmhouse.org Winter 2017 ConstruCtion to CommenCe this spring D ue to the generous support of our brothers and friends, we are set to begin construction on our project in May. To date, we have raised more than $3.74 million from more than 470 alumni. This is a UNL fraternity record for a capital campaign. That is incredible and we are so proud of what we've accomplished so far! To ensure project completion and future success, we must finish the job and secure the final funding for the Raise the Barn effort. ConstruCtion plans and timing We've been working hard to finalize the construction plans with our architects and project managers. We're nearly there and we've included some renderings on this page to share with you. We're really excited for the new structure and we hope you are too. On April 22, we are having a breaking ground ceremony. Be sure to join us. It will be the last event at the old house, and it will be a great time to get together as brothers and friends. Construction will commence as soon as the undergraduates are finished with classes and finals. In the fall, while construction is still happening, the freshmen will be living in a block in Smith Hall, while the upperclassmen will be living in a block at the Latitude apartment complex in downtown Lincoln. They will hold weekly meetings as a group and will work to ensure everyone still feels a sense of connection throughout this process. projeCt essential for suCCess Several fraternities at UNL have completed renovations or are in the midst of capital campaigns. In order to remain competitive, this project is necessary. When completed, we will have an excellent facility worthy of the FarmHouse name and we will be able to continue attracting and retaining quality individuals. Continued support needed We want to make sure our chapter stays strong. We know that you want to see this as well. In order to keep up with rising construction costs, we need to reach our stretch goal with the Raise the Barn effort. Reaching our $4.5 million goal will significantly help in keeping our debt at a manageable level. Doing so allows the chapter to remain competitive with room & board and allows them to have a first-rate house to recruit the best and brightest. The anticipation from our undergraduates for the new facility is creating excitement and motivation. Let's give them the tools they need to succeed and enjoy their time in FarmHouse. Our chapter has a lot to give and teach a young man. Let's make the experience that much better by providing an updated facility. This facility will greatly improve recruitment and morale, creating a strong and unified Nebraska Chapter. When we pool our resources and work together, we can accomplish great things. Let's reach our stretch goal of $4.5 million! Utilize the enclosed pledge form to commit your support. Please do what you can—by donating for the first time, or by extending your pledge to a sixth year—to close the gap to our goal. With your help we can ensure the next 100 years of the Nebraska Chapter of FarmHouse Fraternity. Be sure to join us on April 22 for the momentous occasion of groundbreaking! Fraternally, Campaign Leadership Dollars Still Needed to Ensure Project Success Save the Date: Groundbreaking Event April 22nd!
