6 T he Alpha Gamma Rho Chapter House Association and undergraduate leadership have developed a strategic plan to address the long-term viability of the AGR experience on the Florida campus. Aer careful study, assessment, undergraduate survey, and planning, it has been determined that a new home be built. AGR brothers must invest to meet the needs of today's students for our fraternity to be not only a viable Greek option, but a leader on campus. Working with Mike Puckett '85 of Ai Collaborative (AIC), the Association has developed a house plan that is current, accommodating of technology, and attuned to meet the needs of today's students. e goal is a high-quality, durable, and easily maintained facility that will provide a safe living and learning environment for many years while maintaining the storied history of AGR at Florida. GOALS u Construct an attractive brick and mortar structure with durability and aesthetic curb appeal that fits Florida's style of architecture u Accommodate between 60-70 men on the current site u Offer a mixture of single and two-man rooms, as well as a handicapped-accessible room u Design an efficient apartment for live-in supervision of chapter house activities u Provide informal and formal study spaces, including areas for individual and group study, and gathering space for brothers living off campus "COMMITTED TO THE HIGHEST STANDARDS" u Design a full-service kitchen to provide meal service with increased efficiency and to improve financial performance through additional revenue u Leverage technology to make power usage efficient, increase reliable internet access, and prepare the facility for the next 20 years u Address mandatory life-safety issues with sprinklers, fire- rated doors, and full compliance with code specifications u Include large columns and porch area to enhance visual approach and maximize usable outdoor space u Provide adequate parking and green space for philanthropic, alumni and other Greek events, while allowing for future expansion PROJECT COST An estimate of the new facility and furnishings is based on the construction of similar facilities in and around the Gainesville area and currently listed construction costs of like buildings. A full bid package and cost assessment will not be completed until aer the feasibility study is complete and the ability to raise funds has been determined.
