Chapter members returned to the following updates: • New furniture and artwork for the living room • New furniture for the Moyer Foyer, made possible by alumnae donations to the annual giving campaign • New paint, wallpaper, furniture, artwork, and lighting in the powder room • Extensive tuck pointing repairs to the exterior of the house • Walk-in freezer addition and other kitchen updates to meet city inspection guidelines Additional projects are being planned and will be completed during the 2016-17 school year: • Installation of custom stained glass windows to flank the fireplace in the dining room, see photos above • Complete the living room updates • Update the niche in the vestibule • Spruce up the scotch room Archive visits During my fall trip in September, I visited the University of Illinois Archives with House Director holly scheeringa Umland '05, Resident Advisor Jordan Koziol '11, and Executive Board member carly Newman '14. Illinois has one of the premier university archives and the largest collection of Greek organization materials in the country. An archive employee aided our visit by collecting objects from rose Oltusky edelson. Rose composed the music for "Fight Illini!" and donated many items to the archives, such as her song book for the fight song, her initiation certificate, and the menu from Mu Chapter's chartering banquet. These items were treasures, and we will have all important chapter and alumnae items preserved and cataloged by the university archives. We encourage you to donate your AEPhi related items to the archives to be included with the Mu Chapter artifacts. Please contact House Director holly scheeringa Umland '05 at aephihouse@gmail. com about donating to this important project! stAyiNg cONNected As we approach Mu Chapter's centennial on May 3, 2020, we are working diligently to ensure the chapter house is a beautiful and safe environment for current and future members. This remains a challenging and expensive goal with an older home and the changing needs of our members. I hope you consider donating to our annual giving campaign. Thank you to all of you who have donated thus far. Your donations are greatly appreciated and allow us to complete projects that impact our chapter house in a positive way. Please remember to send in your biographical updates so we can share your news with other alumnae, and if you would like to honor the memory of a chapter alumna, please send her name to me so we can include her on the Mu Chapter memorial wall.
