Largest Fraternity on Campus (Continued from page 1) BROTHERHOOD IS A LIFETIME BOND Steve Money '80 Reflects on His SigEp Journey U pon graduating from Palmer High School in Colorado Springs in 1975 alongside my dear friend, Dr. Jim Monk '79, I started my college experience at Western State College in Gunnison and transferred to the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs beginning my second year. While visiting friends in Boulder, Jim invited me to visit the Sigma Phi Epsilon Chapter House, where I met Skip "Bear" Willenbrock '81 and his brother, Alan "Puck" Willenbrock '83. These three individuals were instrumental in my decision to pursue SigEp and become a member of this brotherhood. After transferring from UCCS to University of Colorado, Boulder, I joined SigEp in 1978 as a 20-year-old junior. After meeting other Chapter members, I realized what a diverse group of quality individuals belonged to this Fraternity. This Fraternity was, and is still, steeped in history and tradition. I knew that I wanted to be a part of this legacy, and so my journey began. I became Alan Willenbrock's pledge son and upon initiation into our Fraternity, I moved into the Chapter House with Skip Willenbrock as my roommate. Two years into my SigEp membership, Tad Willenbrock '83 became my pledge son. I could not be more proud to be a SigEp and to be included within this Fraternity's history. I graduated in 1980 with an undergraduate degree in social psychology and I remain actively involved with Colorado Alpha as a board member on the Alumni Volunteer Corporation (AVC). Over the last decade, I have proudly served under the leadership of four different AVC presidents. The skills needed to work with different groups of people were fine-tuned in my early undergraduate years as a SigEp. These skills have proven invaluable in building a successful business, Five Star Homes Inc., and in working with my clients. I give a great deal of credit for my personal success to my years as a SigEp and to my wife, Linda Money. I met my wife 35 years ago, and we have now been married for over 32 years. Linda is employed at the University of Colorado and we remain happily living in Boulder. Having my wife in my life and having such close relationships with my SigEp brothers are two of the best things that have ever happened to me. To this day, my closest and most enduring friendships are with my SigEp brothers. We enjoy rock climbing, skiing, fishing, and still enjoy simply spending time together. I would greatly enjoy connecting with any and all brothers, and I invite you to make a trip to Boulder. We would love to have everyone come visit our Colorado Alpha Chapter House and see the numerous updates that have recently been completed. I guarantee that you will be impressed and proud. I also invite you to remember that you, too, are a part of this legacy, and it's never too late to reconnect with your brothers. For me, the journey that began some 40 years ago when I visited Jim Monk at the Colorado Alpha Chapter House has been a most rewarding experience, leading to a lifetime of enduring friendships. Thank you to Sigma Phi Epsilon and all my Colorado Alpha brothers. Fraternally, Steven Money '80 AVC Board Member
