One of our newest philanthropies, Phi D'Elves' Save Christmas, raised more than $1,000 toward Youth and Shelter Services in Ames, which is an organization that provides children with much-needed coats, gloves, toys, and hygiene products during the winter months. This philanthropy was very successful last year, so we look forward to an even better turnout this year. One of the most impactful philanthropic organizations that Iowa Gamma supports greatly is Dance Marathon, an organization that supports children with life-threatening illnesses by providing financial and emotional support to hundreds of families across Iowa. Dance Marathon holds a special place in the hearts of Iowa Gamma Phi Delts. This event is one of the largest and most successful student-run philanthropy events on campus, which was started by an Iowa Gamma Phi Delta Theta member 19 years ago. Iowa Gamma has always had many members serve as part of the executive committee within Dance Marathon. In January, ISU raised more than $362,000, with Iowa Gamma raising more than $9,000 of that. We look forward to participating in this January's event, led by Iowa Gamma's Grant Denny 1881. In early October, Iowa Gamma Phi Delts participated in the Walk to Defeat ALS in Des Moines. This event raises funds for research with the hope of finding a cure for the disease. It is always an eye-opening experience to see how ALS can negatively impact someone's life, and this event is an opportunity for everyone to come together and raise awareness about a disease we all care about. THANK YOU, ALUMNI On behalf of the chapter, I would like to thank all of our alumni who have contributed toward the renovation of the chapter facility. Iowa Gamma has benefitted greatly from the contributions that you have given. We continuously see massive improvements in regards to our recruitment, as well as the overall impression of the chapter. We had a great turnout at the alumni tailgate and the house rededication ceremony on October 29. Looking at how much we have grown over last few of years, we are very excited to see how much more we can grow in all aspects with the new renovation. Yours in the Bond, Brandon Bjoin 1867, Chapter President • brbjoin@iastate.edu
