The second annual Red Bluff-Tehama County Chamber of Commerce Christmas Breakfast, hosted by Red Bluff Dodge, will offer a hot and delicious breakfast and networking with Red Bluff and Tehama County's finest. The event is scheduled for 7:45 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 8 at the Red Buff Dodge showroom, 545 Adobe Road. Bring a toy for the less fortunate for the CHiP's For Kids program. Door prizes will be given out at the conclusion of the event. Gift memberships Receive a free eBlast and electronic message — a $250 value — when you give a chamber membership to a business or friend, or web sponsoring to those who are already members. It's quick and easy and an encouraging gift that keeps on giving. MerryChristmasfrom the chairman When stores put out Christmas decorations be- fore Halloween, I think it's okay for me to say "Merry Christmas" now. As with every holiday season, there is a lot for which to be thankful, and a lot going on as well. Here are just a few of the things your Chamber is up to be- tween now and the end of the year: First up is our quarterly business training seminar in partnership with the Butte College Small Busi- ness Development Center. It's scheduled for Thurs- day, December 6 at 9am at the Holiday Inn Express on North Main. The subject is "How to make financial statements work for you." Call to register this week 530-895-9017. We've got a collection point our offices for the CHPs for KIDS toy drive. You can drop your toys off at our office or bring them to the Christmas Breakfast (see below). Our Christmas Break- fast at Red Bluff Dodge is scheduled for Thursday, December 8th. Wear your most favorite ugly Christ- mas Sweater and you might win a prize! Don't forget to bring toys for the CHPs KIDS. If you or an organization you belong to has events scheduled for 2017, please let us know so we can in- clude them in the 2017 An- nual Event Calendar we publish every year. This is the comprehensive guide to what's happening in our community. 2017 California Em- ployment Posters must be posted in every workplace in California and yours is no exception. Please con- tact our office to order one; cost starts at $27. Our 2017 Member Direc- tory and Visitor Guide is be- ing published now and will be available in a few weeks. Stay tuned and we'll get them distributed as soon as they're received in our office, probably just after the first of the year. In this time between Thanksgiving and Christ- mas, there are a few folks we should remember to say "Thank You" to… Our Ambassadors do a great job year round vis- iting members, helping at events, and generally sup- porting our efforts in a va- riety of ways. Thanks to them all! Our Board does a great job of representing our members, bringing input on important issues, helping at events, and guiding the di- rection of your Chamber. Our office staff of Ja- son, Nathaniel, and (awe- some) Dave work very hard, wearing a number of differ- ent hats as they serve our members. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Scott Camp, chairman Employment posters California employers and businesses are required to post updated employment posters at their places of employment. Please note that there are changes to the poster and all employers will need to have the 2017 poster in order to be com- pliant with the law. All employers and busi- nesses are reminded that the 2017 employment poster, which contains all state and federal em- ployer notices, is available through the Red Bluff-Te- hama County Chamber of Commerce office. The poster contains all required employer notices on one poster and includes a checklist to ensure poster is displayed according to law. The poster is pro- duced by the State Cham- ber and made available to local chambers. Cost for the 2017 poster is $26.99 for paper and $38.99 laminated, plus tax. Con- sider adding Poster Protec- tion — $16 non-laminated, $26 laminated — for free updated posters on any law changes during 2017. Contact the chamber at info@redbluffchamber.com or 527-6220 to order yours today. Calendar of events All chamber members are asked to help in com- piling information for one of the more popular of the chamber's resident and tourist handouts — the an- nual calendar of events. This 4-page listing of events taking place in our area throughout the year is distributed to visitors, local residents, organiza- tions, media and publica- tions throughout the entire state. You can help by supply- ing the chamber with any information regarding date, location, contact infor- mation, etc., of any major or traditional events that will take place in Tehama County next year. In addition to major events like the Red Bluff Round-Up in April, the cal- endar lists other popular events such as the Farm City Night in November and the Relay for Life in May. In order to make the list as complete as possible and not leave any event out, we ask several times for help in identifying these events with appropriate dates, etc. So please, if you know of any event already scheduled for next year, call the cham- ber office at 527-6220, fax the event schedule at 527- 2908 or e-mail the event schedule to jason@red- bluffchamber.com so that we can include them in the 2017 Calendar of Events. The deadline for submit- ting items for the calendar is Dec. 9. Ambassadors Corner Thank you to all who come out to the parade and weathered the cold and rain with us! We hoped you en- joyed the floats and vehicles as much as we did. This month's Ambassa- dor Spotlight goes to So- phia Oropeza from Express Employment Professionals. She has been with Express since April and works as their Front Office Coordi- nator. She joined Ambas- sadors since she would like to pursue a career in Sales and Marketing and it's a great way to get to know our local businesses and start a relationship with them. Her favorite part of being an Ambassador is getting to know new peo- ple and getting to attend all the great events. Sofia is also a chartering member of the Active 20-30 Club of Red Bluff. She loves Red Bluff and loves being so involved in our commu- nity. We are always looking for community focused people to join the Chamber Am- bassadors, please let me know if you are interested in learning more.
