Kappa Kappa Gamma 3 Undergraduate Members Continue to Succeed T his semester has been a great one so far for the Epsilon Beta Chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma. We have participated in many different campus activities, including Dance Marathon and Cans Around the Oval, as well as multiple fraternity and sorority events, such as Homecoming Week and formal recruitment, along with the events that our chapter has hosted. We are excited to share with you what we've been up to. KAMp KAppA EVEnt RAiSES $6,250 On September 14, we hosted our inaugural Kamp Kappa philanthropy event where we were able to raise $6,250 for the Catie Abeyta Scholarship Fund in honor of our sister, Catherine Abeyta '15, who passed away last spring. We had over 300 in attendance as we cooked s'mores and hotdogs in the backyard of the house to go along with the campout theme. COntinUEd ACAdEMiC SUCCESS Over the past year we managed to maintain our GPA above the all-university women's average, and in the spring semester we were able to raise it even more. Our chapter had a 3.14 GPA, ranking us sixth out of 12 sororities, and we also had 57 scholars. WElCOME, 72 nEW MEMBERS During the last weekend of September we participated in CSU's formal sorority recruitment. Over the course of three days, we met over 800 women going through recruitment. It was such a success and truly amazing to see how much interest in the sorority community has grown in just the last few years. We are also looking forward to Initiation in December as we prepare to initiate our 72 new members! EVEntS GAlORE In terms of external relations, we have already hosted some big events this semester, and have more upcoming. In September and October, we hosted our Dad's Day tailgate at Hughes Stadium, our annual Parent's Day lunch during Homecoming Weekend, and Kappa Kickoff, our alumnae-focused event before the big Border Wars football game. We also hosted a Founder's Day tea for both actives and alumnae where we celebrated the achievements of the fraternity as a whole, and individually, from the past 146 years. Our chapter is looking forward to continuing in this positive direction and cannot wait for the new accomplishments and opportunities that may arise in the coming year!
