Dedicated study and lounge space for members to gather on each floor New plumbing for bathrooms, showers, and vanity space on the second and third floor New washer and dryer facilities on each floor Natural lighting in hallways and bedrooms Energy-efficient heating and cooling BASEMENT 2,000-square-foot Chapter Room with high ceilings, audiovisual equipment, and ritual storage; will also double as a safe room Dedicated workout space for members Dedicated area for projects (banners, crafts, etc.) Remain in our current location Increase our floor space by 5,000 square feet for a total facility size of 24,000 square feet Provide ample meeting, living, and dining space to accommodate our Chapter size Increase sleeping capacity from 58 to 78-85 women Replace heating and cooling, plumbing, and electrical systems for greater efficiency and temperature regulation to accommodate the volume/size of the house Address safety issues by providing a safe room to shelter from weather and secure windows and doors Estimated completion date summer 2020—in time to celebrate AO's 100th anniversary in September 2021 Estimated Project Cost: $8,000,000 (hard and soft costs included) SECOND AND THIRD FLOORS NEW CHAPTER HOUSE GOALS Planning for the Future Grand staircase and foyer 2,500-square-foot dining room to seat up to 200 women Commercial-grade kitchen with a serving area and snack bar Spacious study room, lounge space, and executive board meeting room Private guest suite with a full bathroom that will meet ADA requirements Large house director suit W orking with Newcomb AE architects, and through careful study, assessment, and planning, the Alpha Omicron House Corporation has determined that the most logical and necessary strategy is to build a new Chapter house at 1309 W. University Avenue. Our new house will maintain the historical and architectural characteristics of the existing house.
