William C. Ulz '52 entered Chapter Eternal
on March 30. He was a cherished husband,
father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle,
and cousin. Bill was an active member
and volunteer to the Shepherd's Center of
Webster Kirkwood and longtime member of
the Webster Hills United Methodist Church.
He is also a U.S. Army veteran and four-year
member of the Miners football team.
James N. Sturdy '56 entered Chapter Eternal
on September 14. He was preceeded in death
by his wife, Barbara, and son, James. He is
survived by his daughters, Suzanne (Peter)
Foley, Stephanie Denomme, and Saundra
Sturdy; six grandchildren; and five great-
grandchildren. James was a Kirkwood High
School 50-year alumnus athlete and a Korean
War veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
Tim R. Postlewait '72 entered Chapter
Eternal on March 7 in Hammond, La., at
the age 65. He received an MBA at the
University of New Haven, and he worked as
a metallurgical engineer at United Nuclear
Corp. and as plant metallurgist at Chaparral
Steel in Mid-Lothian, Texas. He began
working for Bayou Steel in LaPlace, La., in
1981. He rose through management ranks to
vice president of plant operations and retired
as vice president of corporate strategy in 2006.
As chief quality control officer, he traveled
extensively overseas to assure quality controls
for Bayou Steel's foreign buyers. Tim was
a member of Holy Ghost Parish since 1983
and will be remembered for his humor, keen
intellect, passion for quality, strong work
ethic, and ability to touch many lives in a
positive way, including his selfless mentoring
of employees.
