Please consider a gift to MO Gamma's Scholarship fund by visiting http://ow.ly/HcpY5 ALUMNI BOARD ENCOURAGED BY ACTIVE MEMBER ACTIVITIES Strategic Value Found in New Property Purchase on Campus B rothers, it is hard to believe how fast the semester flies. By the time you read this, there will only be a few weeks left in the semester. With the Chapter at 101 members, MO Gamma has a breadth of talented young men who will lead the way to achieving high marks academically and top three in intramurals. The Chapter worked hard planning their week-long, campus- wide Sexual Assault Prevention Program that took place in early November. The undergraduates recognize the importance of SigEp brothers being leaders on campus and intend for this to be an annual program. As you think about your year-end philanthropic giving, please remember the MO Gamma Scholarship Fund. This fund supports scholarships for Chapter members, and the selection committee distributes awards based upon need, scholastic performance, contribution to the Chapter, and impact on the fraternal spirit. There are two easy ways to contribute: you can give by check to "Sigma Phi Epsilon Educational Foundation" with "MO Gamma Scholarship Fund" in the memo line and mail to MO Gamma Alumni Corporation, P.O. Box 411811, St. Louis, MO 63141-1811; and by credit card at http://ow.ly/HcpY5 (scroll down to MO Gamma-Scholarship Fund on the drop down). Making a donation to this scholarship fund is a great way to support the future of our great Chapter, and it is tax deductible. The board members are excited that the piece of property on the southwest corner of our block is available. The board had the property appraised and agreed on a price with the owners. We close on the property in early February, and it is being financed by funds from the Chapter's savings, Alumni Corporation's savings, and by a loan from Central Federal, the source of the loan for our house renovation in 2011. We intend to convert the building into living space for eight members, starting in fall 2017. This purchase was not about additional living space. With this piece of property, SigEp will have control of the entire block. This is a long-term, strategic move for the future of our fraternity. We encourage all of you to stop by the Chapter House whenever you are in the area or send us a note with what is new in your life. We look forward to hearing from you. Fraternally yours, Mike Hurst '74 Alumni Board President md_hurst@yahoo.com Missouri Gamma Alumni Corporation will own the block bounded by Ninth St. on the north and Eighth St. on the south, between N. State Street on the west and Park Street on the east. With the purchase of the Malone building, we will complete our ownership of the entire block. This block is directly south of university property, which is currently being used as a parking lot but has been fitted with geothermic wells as part of the campus-wide geo-thermal heating/ cooling system. We are in an enviable strategic position. MO Gamma property location in relation to campus.
