B efore I jump into a report on the noteworthy successes of our Chapter in our first two operating months, the undergraduates want to thank the AVC, Chapter support team, alumni, and all those who have contributed time and resources into Florida Alpha. These accomplishments would not be possible without you. This semester has been one of firsts. Since the beginning of the semester we have extended 16 bids and recruited 15 outstanding men into our Chapter, leaving us with a bid acceptance rate of 94%; far better than any other organization. Our first Balanced Man Scholarship banquet was held on October 21 and our recruitment team is hard at work to recruit at least another 10 of those scholarship finalists so we can end the fall semester with more than 65 men strong. The Balanced Man Program was launched early in October and we had our first few rituals alongside that in the Reitz Union. On a partnership level we kicked off the SigEp Live Your Oath Campaign with the ladies of ADPi in September, and have worked hard with our partner ACW to raise money and awareness for Dance Marathon. There has been much to celebrate with what our men have accomplished, too. Brothers are involved with Student Government as senators, assistant directors, and an agency director. Our undergraduate brothers are impacting colleges as president of the Heavener Business School and vice president of the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering. Brother Aaron Blau '19 was selected as the only Fraternity representative to sit on a committee of four to implement the IFC Emerging Leaders Conference for all fraternities. Lastly, some of our older brothers have been offered and accepted full-time positions with Proctor & Gamble, J.P. Morgan, and Anheuser Busch. Serving as Chapter president has afforded me the opportunity to work closely with the AVC, SigEp Headquarters, and alumni, and I attribute much of the successes listed above to the strong relationship we have with all entities involved with the Chapter. We cannot thank the AVC and alumni enough for all your support, especially for the financial funding in the house renovation. Because of your support, SigEp will soon interact with alumni; hold Chapter, executive board, and Balanced Man Program meetings; host organizations; and house 46 men and feed the rest all in one location. Our undergraduates look forward to next fall and having our home base at 5 Fraternity Row. I hope you are, too.
