Indiana Zeta Alumni Newsletter 705 Mound Street • Valparaiso, IN 46383 • www.valposigeps.org Fall 2016 2 015-16 was another astounding year for Indiana Zeta! Our undergraduate brothers were again on top: recruiting the largest number of new members (more than any other fraternity on campus), taking the top position in grades, bringing home the intramural cup, and taking top honors locally and nationally. They also developed a local leadership program that was implemented in the fall to give potential members a glimpse of what they could gain by becoming a SigEp. While the undergraduates were building and improving on the success of prior generations, our alumni brothers continued to provide a strong foundation for the future. Our AVC supported our chapter's Balanced Man Scholarship and helped several brothers attend CLA. John Ruff '14 and Ryan Bye '15, respectively serving as faculty advisor and chapter mentor, provided guidance to the undergraduates in their daily operations. Bill Yonker '82 inspired us to reach ever higher during our annual preference dinner. While our undergraduates' accomplishments leave me in awe every year, I am also humbled and inspired by each of you. Every day, as I follow you on Facebook, hear reports from your friends, or talk with you about your lives, I see living examples of our Cardinal Principles. It is no wonder that, with this enduring bond holding us up, your accomplishments are so many and varied. To name just a few: • Doug Uehling '98 was named 2015 Teacher of the Year in Porter County, Indiana. • John Gresley '01 was named assistant dean and director of MBA programs at the University of Florida Warrington School of Business. • Mike Nevergall '05 received the 2016 ALDE Jay Bleeke Young Professional award. In addition to providing a social environment where our young brothers form the bonds that will carry through this lifetime, our mission is to help provide the foundation for our undergraduates to become the leaders of tomorrow's communities. The bedrock of this foundation is the house we provide. Our current chapter house has reached the end of its lifespan, and we are in active negotiations with the University to secure a site for our next house. We are coming close to finalizing those negotiations, and we look forward to sharing with you the vision for our new chapter house! As always, we thank you for your support and we look forward to hearing from you soon.
