Fall 2016
Rho Chapter Strand of Pearls
am pleased to share the latest updates from the
House Corporation. In August, our members moved
back into the house for the fall semester and returned to
see the many updates completed during the summer break.
Important life-safety items were installed, including hardwiring
the alarm system to the Columbus Fire Department and new
exterior lighting. Other summer projects included the chapter room
remodeling project, made possible by generous alumnae donations
to the annual campaign, new tile flooring in both the second- and
third-floor bathrooms, new artwork for the dining room, and new
bunk beds.
During the fall, the foyer and study room hallway will be remodeled
to provide an inviting and beautiful space for both our members and
guests when they enter the chapter house. Summer projects are
being planned already and will include new vanities for the second-
and third-floor bathrooms.
The goal of every project House Corporation undertakes is to
provide a safe, comfortable, and beautiful home for our members,
and a facility that remains competitive with the other chapter houses
on campus. As I have shared with you in previous newsletters,
keeping the house updated to stay competitive and meet the needs
of our chapter members is a serious challenge. Other chapters are
doing extensive remodeling of their facilities, and one is considering
building a new house. I hope that you will contribute to our annual
campaign. Your support is very important, and much appreciated!
Please share your updates and news so we can share it in future
newsletters.
