I t's been a busy few months for the Gamma Theta Chapter of Alpha Tau Omega. While our undergraduates are back on campus and enjoying the fall semester, which is busier than ever before, construction has started to wind down on the Alpha Tau Omega chapter house. The 2015-16 school year was a trying time for our brotherhood—but it was also one that was filled with excitement as we were deep in the construction phase. We were elated when we received news last spring that Gamma Theta was once again a recognized student organization at UNL. That news, coupled with our continued construction, brought excitement to the alumni leadership and our undergraduates throughout the summer. Our undergraduate brothers pledged 23 new members, which is on par with other fraternities on campus, and we couldn't help but think that these new pledges would be the ones to propel us into the next chapter of ATW history at UNL. As we look back on how far we have come since announcing our Building on a Tradition of Excellence campaign several years ago, we continue to be thankful for the 195 alumni who have committed $2,049,247 to our fundraising efforts. We wouldn't be where we are today without their financial support. Because of them, we are excited to announce that our undergraduates will move back into 1433 R Street in January 2017. While this timeline is later than we had planned originally, it is imperative now, probably more than ever before, that we reach our $3.225 million fundraising goal. The total project cost is more than $3.3 million and construction costs in Lincoln continue to rise each and every day. We are working closely with Union Bank and Trust on our financing, and it has been a successful partnership to date, but we must continue to meet our cash flow goals in order to service the debt that has been incurred from this project. We are still just $1,175,753 away from our goal. Remember, all alumni donating gifts of $2,500 and more will have their names inscribed on a plaque permanently displayed in the chapter house. And don't forget, gifts can be spread out over a five-year period. We have set up a secure online donation site for you to have those payments automatically deducted from your account. Visit http://atounl.kintera.org/campaign to set up your pledge. IT'S THAT EASY! Still not convinced? Let us break down the math for you: $2,500 over five years is $500 a year, which is just $42 a month. That's a little over a $1 a day for Alpha Tau Omega. Couldn't you give up that weekly $5 Starbucks and put that money toward your fraternity, which has given so much to you? Or what about that monthly round of golf? Couldn't the green fees from that be given back to ATW? If we all commit to doing just a little bit, we'll easily meet our campaign goal. While the past few months have been busy, we know what's ahead is even more exciting. We're just weeks away now from our undergradauates moving into the best fraternity house on campus. Don't you want to be able to tell your son, or grandson, someday that you were part of it? Set up your online gift today by visiting http://atounl.kintera.org/campaign, or use the enclosed envelope TODAY. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity you won't want to miss out on.
