F or the past few years, the brothers of Tau Chapter have had their eyes set on the same thing—our Centennial. Now, it is finally upon us, and Chapter morale is continuously increasing as we further our involvement and success at the University of Florida. Members Take the Lead of Campus Organizations This spring we made a huge push for campus involvement. While most fraternities and sororities would be happy to have one agency head, we have three this fall semester. Dillon Knox '13, Nick Anderson '14, and Matt Glover '13 are the chairmen of Student Government Productions, Gator Innovators, and Gators Going Green, respectively. In addition, Alex Desrosiers '13 is the comptroller of Student Government Productions. In Florida Blue Key divisions, we had Andrew Kelly '15, Michael Sumner '16, and Garrett Crawford '14 become assistant directors of Legal Day, Personnel, and Health Professions. We are especially proud to announce that Alex DesRosiers '13 and Brendan Collins '13 were tapped into Florida Blue Key this spring. As for Gator Growl and Homecoming, Michael Sumner '16 became the director of operations, Garrett Crawford '14 and Drew Geyer '15 became assistant directors of operations, and Joey Carrillo '15 became the assistant director of philanthropy. We also increased our involvement with Dance Marathon. Jesse Sands '12, Bobby Finigan '12, and I are now the director of finance, productions overall, and assistant director of operations, respectively. With Jesse, Bobby, and I, as well as a number of potential returning captains, we will be able to make a substantial contribution for the Children's Miracle Network. Planning for Successful Recruitment and Philanthropy This summer, our vice president of recruitment, Gavin Peltz '14, led a strong effort to recruit our fall 2016 pledge class. We are confident that our year-round recruiting activities will prove to be successful in attracting new members for the fall and spring pledge classes. If any alumni have a recommendation for a new member, please contact Gavin at gavin.peltz@gmail.com. We are revamping our philanthropy event from kickball to a talent show. With ideas gathered throughout the past few years, our philanthropy chairman, Kyle Soch '14, has created an event that will raise more money and be more interactive for a large group of participants. The event will remain in honor of our late brother, Kyle Schuemann '01. If you wish to contribute in any way, please reach out to Kyle at ksoch96@gmail.com. Thank You, Alumni Lastly, I would like to thank all our alumni for getting us to where we are today. It is because of the endless hard work you have put in over many generations that we can celebrate being on campus for an uninterrupted 100 years. It is truly remarkable.
