Undergraduates Recruit Largest Pledge Class in Chapter History
R
ecruitment ended with the largest pledge class in the history of Psi
Chapter—148 new members! There was no set Panhellenic quota, and
each chapter had a different quota based on its current chapter size. We
achieved full quota.
More than 2,800 women went through formal recruitment and 76 potential
new members were Alpha Gamma Delta legacies. We pledged 23 of the
76. Of those 23, 14 were Psi Chapter legacies, four were Gamma Delta
(Auburn) legacies, and five were legacies from other chapters. Four of the
Psi legacies are double legacies, and seven had in-house sisters.
Just over half of our new members are from Alabama, and 12 women are
upperclassmen. They are all accomplished, smart, and beautiful women
and we are thrilled to welcome them to our chapter. The University of
Alabama has a new policy of not releasing bid lists, but we are sharing
our list on page 2.
While many alumnae helped with the planning and execution, a special
thank-you goes to our chapter advisor, Lissa Handley Tyson '83, our new
recruitment advisor, Amy Owen Lawson '87, and our new membership
advisor, Katherine McDavid Allen '87.
We will be serving meals for the Texas A&M, Mississippi State, and
Auburn game days. The serving times and menus will be set after the game
times are scheduled. Our campus relations coordinator, Channing Stock
'14, regularly sends e-mails to our alumnae updating them on events going
on and includes plans for game day meals. If you would like to be added to
this e-mail list, please contact Channing at cstock1@crimson.ua.edu. Each
active is allowed two guests per game and alumnae may purchase a meal
online or at the door. Instructions to purchase online are in Channing's
e-mails before each game. Game day information is also posted on our
Chapter Facebook page as well.
Thank you for your continued support of our chapter through your
donations to our new house, your recommendations on prospective
members and sharing all your fun times with your sisters with all of us.
